“It's snowing and here we are” Kim Chaewon said, taking a sip of her beer and then, letting out a satisfied groan.
“What does snowing have to do anything with us being here?” Do Seolmi asked, shoving a piece of spicy Tteokbokki in her mouth. Her eyes followed a man who got in the restaurant and sat next to her friend. “Yah boss! Aren't you too late today?” She asked the man.
“Oh sorry, I couldn't get a taxi because of the snow” He said, pouring a glass of beer for himself. Jang Minjun, apparently the CEO of the small law firm, Seolmi works in. He's also trying to get Chaewon to date him because Seolmi knew he wasn't a bad guy.
“But you know, CEO is so nice that he takes potatoes as the payment for his job” Seolmi smirked as she took a sip of her beer as Chaewon made a sound of displeasure and both of the started bickering but holding their hands on the table.
Now, Seolmi's eyes followed a woman as she walked right up to their table. “Yah Jang Minjun!” She squeaked out, making the said man turn to her, horrified. Both the other girls raised their eyebrows confused and looked at each other.
“Miran, I can explain” Minjun stuttered as Miran pointed at the holding hands of him and Chaewon.
“This?” She asked, scoffing. “I followed you all the way from the subway. You really think that you, telling me that you're in a work dinner, will make me understand that you're meeting, two women at a time?” She asked as Seolmi spoke up.
“Ah, I'm actually the lawyer in his firm, and she's the women he's pestering to go on a date” She said, bowing a bit before as she scoffed.
“I'm so sorry that you have to see this nonsense behavior of my boyfriend but, Minjun, a woman?” Both Chaewon and Seolmi narrowed her eyes at her. “You told me all your employees were guys!” She yelled, attracting all the attention to them, as both Seolmi and Chaewon scoffed.
“Women? Yah!” Seolmi slammed her fist on the table. “Miran shi, how long have you been dating this jerk?” She asked, looking at the women.
“Seven years” She said and hit Minjun with her bag and started walking out, but he grabbed her hand.
“It's not what you are this, it is, honey!” He said, holding her bag. “I can explain—”
“Explain what, huh?” She asked, cutting him off. “I saw everything. I followed you out of your office and saw every single shit” She spat, walking out of the restaurant as Minjun followed behind her.
“Woah! I thought that he was the only decent male species I knew. Chaewon-ah, I'm sorry. I tried to set you up with that scumbag” Seolmi said, looking at the female in front of her as she waved a hand.
“It's nothing. I have that in my fate. You, break every guys' heart. I, get my heart broken by them” Chaewon sighed, gulping down her beer.
“There should be some decent human being, don't worry. You may find someone soon” Seolmi smiled, gulping her glass of beer in one go.
“But Mi, will you continue working there?” Chaewon asked as Seolmi paused.
“No” She shook her head. “I know with us, moving in our new apartment and shit, it's a terrible idea but, I can't keep working for that asshole” She said with sigh.
“But you do have to find a job, right?” Chaewon asked as Seolmi nodded.
“With all my winning rates, I don't think they'll reject me” She smiled, taking a bite of her food.
“Alright. Just, don't screw yourself over” Chaewon said with concern as Seolmi nodded, internally crying.
