Red felt a warm hand slowly and gently brush against his cheek. His mind was groggy and muddled as he cuddled into the unknown heat source beside him. He could faintly remember waking up once previously, waking up to a pain unlike any other as several nameless faces stood watching and another held him down, not allowing him to escape. He didn't remember anything after that, only his memories, which were the cause for his tears now.
Still as he laid there, his body heavy, he could feel a warm body holding him to their chest, the same person wiping away his tears. He felt several cold objects on his chest and one on his forehead. He could hear faintly the ever rising voices of two men as arguments being exchanged. Their words were blurred and unfocused but slowly they began to come into focus.
"- I did not need a mate!" A man growled, sounding every bit like a beast. Red could feel the vibrations of the man's chest as he growled, as well as the small jerked movements he gave, almost as if to emphasize his words using hand gestures, only to remember he was holding Red.
"Allaire, it would serve you well to remember just who you're talking to. Unless you wished to challenge me." Another calmly replied, voice equally as deep but almost regal in a way. These men, Red thought, who are they? Why am I here and why am I being embraced? It was all confusing as unanswered questions swirled around in his head.
"Alpha, I apologize." The first man, Allaire, who cradled Red to him as if he was a babe, apologized.
He only left Red with more questions, mates? Alpha? Who were these people and what on earth did they mean by this. What about the werewolves? Surely he would be dead now if they had found him, right? There were no lack of stories when it came to their lack of restrain, bestiality and cunning behavior.
"Forgiven." 'Alpha' replied.
"I have no need for a mate." Allaire repeated with a quiet sigh. "For me to have a mate, I could die at any moment. That is my fate, I signed up for it and I had known what that would mean for me if I did. I have no family, I signed up knowing I never would. To give me one, to give me someone to care for, to love, that would -"
"Give them leverage? Power? They have nothing you do not give them Allaire."
Could Alpha be his name? Maybe.
Allaire sighed again and I felt a gentle hand push some hair out of my face. "A male?"
Alpha chuckled, his laugh echoing throughout the room. "You never wanted a family, males can't get pregnant."
"So you listen to that."
Red shifted slightly, letting out a barely audible groan. He was in pain, his head throbbed and his voice was hoarse.
"He's waking up." A new, softer voice said.
Wrong, already awake. Red thought. Even so he still is careful to act like he was just waking up, mostly terrified that he'll be eaten or overall just killed for what he has heard. Even if he did not understand it, he doubted that mattered. He did pass out in the werewolf invested forest, with a man.
Shit! He thought, his eyes flying open as he quickly pushes himself up and pulls away from the man who was holding him. He whips his head around the room, taking in his surroundings. Four males and a female, all seemingly naked. Red wasn't too sure about the man he shared a bed with and he wasn't too sure he really wanted to know.
The walls were stone and all bare, while the room had only one exit. One man and the woman stood there, blocking it. The floor held numerous clay pots, and he was lying in a pile of animal fur with a damp cloth lying on his lap and wood, and pink stones lay around him. Looking down he realized he too was wearing nothing, making him blush.
