1972 The world is separated by ideologies and borders. After the second world war, the Soviets captured Berlin and all of East Germany, leaving nothing for the Germans. While the USA, UK, and France captured the west and focused on reconstruction.
Years went by as east Germany was under the Soviet rule while their neighbors in the west had the support and freedom of the US. Wars, rebellions, and revolutions. Silenced on both ends.
On the Soviet side, a command came in to search for an American plane landing in east Germany holding an American journalist. A lieutenant was given the mission to investigate the journalist, then assassinate them without the medias attention. They'd make it look like an accident, and they have no other choice.
No one expected the series of events that would unfold and cause the cease of world domination on both sides.
