She was listening to their conversation by standing behind a tree.
“prince, we can't go out with such lies anymore. How much longer will this go on?” The person accompanying his asked him worriedly.
He took a deep breath. In fact, he didn't like lying to her like that either. He felt like he was doing something wrong by lying to her.
He put his hand on his shoulder and said, “don't worry general, this won't last much longer. I will soon tell that I'm not prince's friend but a prince myself.”
She was so shocked to hear that. She felt close to him when she was with him for so long. She started to falling in love without knowing it.

When she was ordered to come to the palace, she did not know the meaning of summoning her immediately. She came to the palace scared. The full of court she saw that there was no one else except her and the king.
She bowed to them king. She looked at the king. He was sitting very comfortably on his throne. His crown was shining. His face showed little age, yet his face glowed. He was looking at her with sharp look.
“young lady I don't care who you are but you are responsible for my son's condition and if anything happens to him I'll never forgive you.”
He clapped his hands twice and general appeared in the court. He only ordered to her to be taken to prince immediately.
When she entered his room, she saw darkness everywhere. She went to his bed and seeing him sleeping with his eyes closed, he grabbed her hand as she started to leave.
He opened his eyes and looked at her. She found him very weak. His eyes were very dull and had dark circles under his eyes. His lips had lots there natural pink color. His ever shining face looked like a withered flower.
“are you going to leave without talking to me?” he asked in weak voice. His sadness was evident in his eyes. He sat up with her support.
“am I so bad that you don't even want to talk to me anymore? I admit I lied to you and hid the truth but trust me I had no other choice. Many times I wanted to tell you everything but I don't dare. I was always afraid of losing you.”
She was sitting in front of him with her neck down listening quietly. She also felt a twinge of guilt because she didn't give him a single chance to plead her case. She craned her neck as she heard what he said next.
“if you had only given me a chance that day, I would have told you how much I love you.”
Hearing this she closed her eyes and let the tears flow and said “look, we can't be together. Forgive me. I don't want to come between you and your future wife. Stop it right here. This is not right.”
He called her out as she was about to leave and her feet stopped as she left the room.
“Buttercup”
She looked back. She couldn't believe her ears. “what did you just said?” hearing this name she was so shocked because only one person can call her by this name and that is her childhood friend.
“you?”
He nodded and said “yes, it's me your childhood friend Jung Hoseok .”
