This story takes place in a small town called Satbury, it was filled with content families and friends, all the kids would run out and play outside, parents having conversations like they've known each other their whole lives, Milo's parents however, are always busy, he himself is busy.
He would help his mom with household chores and he would help his father at work, he wouldn't get paid but that was alright with him, once he turns 17 he would be able to work there officially. Milo's birthday was on the 24 of November, this day was the 23, he was excited to turn 17 tomorrow, he was going to finally be a responsible adult.
The next day was gloomy, there was heavy rain and heavy clouds. The kids that would play outside were inside looking out the window.
Some begged their parents to let them go out and play but they refused. Milo woke up at 7:47 am and he had to get to the workshop by 8, he got out of bed quickly and got dressed, he went down stairs and kissed his mother on the cheek and ruffled his sister's hair
"There's food on the table for you dear."
His mother said as she cooked food for herself, "Thanks mom but I'm running late" Milo grabbed his shoes and a banana and headed out the door.
Milo speeded walked down the streets before he was stopped by his neighbor, Vincent.
"Hey, where are you off to in such a hurry?"
Vincent said, his voice wasn't what Milo thought it would sound, it sounded honeyed but rough, it was a weird mixture but it's what it sounded like, Milo cleared his throat and spoke quietly and softly
"I'm headed to the workshop just behind the clothing store, it's my first job"
Milo adjusted his clothing and avoided eye contact with Vincent.
"I see..you must be really nervous huh?"
"Yes sir, I am,"
Milo laughed nervously and was about ready to leave.
"Oh no need to be so formal, please, call me Vincent."
Vincent had a wicked smile, his teeth were crooked and yellowish but that didn't bother Milo much, his teeth weren't that nice either.
"Say, how about you come help out with a few things then you can be on your merry way?"
Vincent said, his smile widening, Milo looked at his phone and nodded
"Yeah, sure, but I have to be quick"
"Of course, this will be as quick as the speed of light"
Vincent led Milo into the house and to a room near the end of the house.
