It had been a long week in school and now it was finally The Weeknd. The only Two days I get off I don't even know what to do besides sleep.
It was Saturday night and I planned on just watching movies and eating snacks. My parents were out of town for a business trip.
That's when I suddenly get a call from my bestfriend Lily. " y/n! Get dressed we are going out tonight " I stayed silent trying to process since she had so much energy.
Lily was a high school drop out but at least made decent money for what ever she did. My parents said I should be like her but I wanted to continue my studies.
Y/n- I'm in bed already you could've told me earlier plus I have nothing to wear Lily- stop being lazy and I'll be there soon I'll spice you up Y/n- Lily I have- Hung up*
Great now I have to go out, I got out of bed and washed up really quick before she got here. She came in with so much in her hands. " beauty costs alot darling " she said winking at me
She laid out all the dress options on my bed and was doing her magic. Seeing which one she thought suited me, she pointed at a dress and threw it at me.
Lily- put it on!
I put it on and see was eyeing every angle of me, " you have such a nice ass" I hit her playingly and chuckled

Lily- it's going to be an elegant party so we will have masks too Y/n- masquerade party? Lily- yes yes, but we will have fun tonight!
It was a bit later when we finally reached the party place. There were so many people outside and inside, everyone looked so fancy.
I knew it didn't fit in but I had to play like it. " just stay by my side okay" Lily said as I held tight onto her as we got through the crowd and finally to a table.
So many people were staring at me and whispering but I didn't know why. I just ignored it,

I was uncomfortable so I just stayed on the low. There was slow music playing in the background and many people got up to dance.
As I turned to look at Lily she was gone, great! The table was empty besides just me sitting alone. Food was brought out but it didn't look that good.
I instead drank water served in a glass cup, my eyes wandered around as I looked up to where a man was standing on the balcony looking directly at me.
He was also wearing one of those masks, it wouldn't look away so I did. I took another sip of water and got up to go explore. The dress was pretty long so I picked up as I walked once again catching people's attention.
I got to a fruit bar where I got chocolate covered strawberries better dinner for me. Very delicious but this wasn't for me I just decided I would go home.
??- would you like to dance with me?
Caught my attention as I turned around to see a guy not the one from earlier but a different one. Instead he wasn't wearing his mask, he gave me a strong smile.
Guy- no pressure but I'd regret not having at least one dance with you. Y/n- thank you for asking but I don't dance- Guy- shall I teach you? Follow my lead Y/n- No thank you
I just walked away and he had murmured something under his breath but I didn't catch it.
Guy- you know you shouldn't be here!
What did he mean by that? I stopped walking and thought for a bit. I didn't want to start a new conversation with this man so I just kept walking.
Towards the exit where it was super packed but finally an empty spot I was looking down and since my eyes were mostly covered by the mask I could see less.
I suddenly bumped into someone making me fall down and dropping the mask. They put their hand out so I took it, it was the same guy from the balcony.
He said nothing just admired me.

As I kept walking and left the building. I had to call an Uber to take me home. But I had that feeling that I needed to look back. And so I did but he wasn't there.
I was waiting for the Uber to come so I was just standing there. I called Lily to see where she was. Surprising she actually answered and pretty quick too.
Lily- oh y/n? What's.. what happened? Y/n- I'm going home, I don't feel safe here. Lily- oh alright get home safe. ( can you hurry up or the deal is off)
I heard in the background from her end. I just stopped questioning things at this point. My Uber finally came and I got in so fast and drove off.
Uber driver- if you're coming from one of these parties wouldn't you have a fancy expensive car? Y/n- I wish I'm actually leaving because I don't fit in Uber driver- you look like the main event there, you stand out a lot. You were the first girl I looked at while driving up Y/n- really well thank you
That's when I realized I forgot the mask. I wasn't going back for some dumb mask though. I finally got home and changed immediately, looking at myself now I did look stunning.
I was going to bed since it was already so late. That's when my phone was ringing so much, I was confused and saw it was my mother and father calling me at the same time.
Mother- Y/N! Where are you? HUH Y/n- mother I'm at the house right now why? Mother- DID YOU GO SOMEWHERE? Y/n- mother why are you yelling? Can you please just calm down! Mother- Y/n you know I don't let you go out besides school and or with me. Where were you? Y/n- Lily had invited me to a masquerade party why.
