★ I WAS HEADING to the cafeteria to work on my assignment for creative writing class — which was my major here at North Carolina A&T. The assignment was to write a letter to an old lover, which was pretty easy to me so I didn't have a problem doing it.
Finding my usual seat by the window, I prop open my laptop to sign in and begin working. I have a small notepad beside me to write down ideas of what details to add that would soon come up in my head.
"Kay!" I whip my head around to see my bestfriend Jay waving with a big smile on his face from across the room. Shortly returning the gesture, I went back to working,
I only got about a few words in when Jay pulls up a chair of his own to sit next to me "Wassup bestie." He smiles, tapping onto the table.
"Hey."
Catching the scent of his cologne as he leans over, he started to study what I was working on. "What you writing?"
"Gotta write a letter to an old lover for class." I answer, picking up the pen to write down another possible detail.
"So everybody's busy but me?" He sighs, rolling his eyes. He's very dramatic
Even though the whole four out of four group isn't present, I'll give you a introduction. We all have our own things. Starting with me majoring in creative writing, Laila majors in animal sciences, Amari majors in art studies and Jay majors in music while being a football player as well. He would always try and get me to be in the band as a majorette dancer but I was too scared to, as well as being too busy.
"You're gonna be busy in a hour most likely since you have practice." I calculate, giving him the attention he wants from me. "Also.....can you get me some tenders please?" I request, being very hungry and not eating anything at all.
