Past

i just remembered

the day when 

you and I

made a promise

we'd stay together

and never change,

the trees stripped

of their clothes

burning the grounds.

We are grown up now

your eyes still hold

the vast blue sky

I want to dive into them

see the world you see

or at least

escape mine for a while.

How many rules

have you broke

or that you admitted

I am still

wondering

what preyed upon

me

to create 

a distance

between

us

Can your mind

hold another

or

is it always this different

maybe I am the one

who forgot who I was

yet

I remember that day

when the leaves were 

bright red

like they were burning on the ground
