Katia

"Katia, give up now! Your parents are unconscious. Your mate's power is being absorbed by my own. I'll allow you to come back willingly. Perhaps this time, we can work alongside each other. Take you off the rack in exchange for putting others on it?"

I'd likely die before doing that. My gaze shifts between Firnen and Maloch, and the more vibrant the violet electrical wire becomes; the more power Firnen begins to lose. His handsome, strong features become weaker and less easily detected, and I know I only have seconds to save him.

Tears break free from me, pink ones that I could not have ever predicted. A tingling sensation blankets my skin, and it's warm. When it reaches my stomach, I sense something might be wrong, and when I try to access more of my fae magic, I cannot. A ripping feeling comes across my back, and I realize what's happening at this moment.

My dragon is going to shift...

My delicate skin breaks and a pink and gold dragon emerges. Maloch's eyes are shot wide open, and this is exactly what I need to catch him off guard.

I open my mouth to burn him to a crisp, and rather than burn him, when violet streaks come toward me, I do not fear them because I realize they now belong to me. Along with my mother's green magic, my father's azure magic, and Firnen's black magic. They're all flowing within me.

Maloch is brought to his knees, and his goons begin escaping. It isn't long before Maloch is on the ground, a mere skeleton.

I'm full of power... power that does not belong to me. I have no clue what I'm doing, but Maloch's electric wire is still absorbing Firnen's magic.

I breathe over him and extinguish Maloch's power with just a thought. And, in the same mind frame, I return the magic I've accidentally stolen and the power that Maloch attempted to steal.

Firnen's eyes open, and he blinks away tears. He witnesses me in my dragon form for a moment before I shift into my fae form, which is still glowing pink.

"You saved me," he laughs, and when I see his bright smile, I'm moved to kiss him, something I would not have done before.

I place my lips over his, and our tongues dance. As we do, azure and blue magic releases from me, and it's returned to my parents, who are now awake and slowly walking over to us. I can hear their footsteps approaching us, but I don't want to leave Firnen's lips.

This is exactly what I needed... my love for him broke me in the best way, and I found my dragon.

We slightly separate, and as we do, I notice Coatl and Alisha, who seem to be struggling to reach the entrance we originally came through.

"Firnen... do you see?"

"Coatl... and Alisha... they betrayed us," he whispers, and I know we're in for another fight without a shadow of a doubt.
