Samuel lands on the balcony outside of Lena's office and sees her working at her desk. "Hey, mom", he says. "I told you about flying around without anything on your face. You need to-", Samuel interrupts Lena. "I had my mask on", Samuel says. "Not good enough", Lena says as she balls a sheet of paper and throws it in the trash. Samuel sits in a chair in front of Lena's desk and looks at her. Lena senses Samuel looking at her. She looks away from her computer and looks at him. "What?", Lena asked. "I want to meet my father", Samuel says. Lena softly sighs and looks back at her computer. "You don't have a father", Lena says. "Well, I want to meet my mother", Samuel says and stands up.
"You don't have a mother", Lena says and flips through papers in her binder. "Well, I know I must have another parent out there. You don't have the same powers I have so that means you had me with someone else. Maybe an alien. Is it superman?", Samuel asked. "No. Samuel, you need to forget about it. Your mother is gone so there's-", Samuel interrupts Lena. "So I do have a mother. Where is she?", Samuel asked. "Stop asking. Go home and do your homework", Lena says and stands up. She walks to bar in the corner of her office and Samuel follows. "Why are you lying to me? What are you hiding?", Samuel asked.
"I'll be home late tonight. Order yourself a pizza", Lena says and walks back to her desk with a glass of wine. Samuel walks to the balcony. He stands there in silence. Lena sighs and turns around and faces him. "I won't be working tomorrow. You and I can go out to eat then catch a movie after. If...you want to", Lena says. Samuel turns around and looks at the sky. He sighs and floats off of ground then puts on his mask. "I'll see you at home", he says then flies away. Lena softly sighs then turns back around and faces her desk.
Meanwhile, Kara knocks on Alex's door. Alex opens the door and laughs. "Seventeen years. You better have a good reason", Alex says and hugs her. Kara hugs back then lets go. "I do", Kara says then walks inside. "Tell me", Alex says and closes the door. "I just wanted to get away from everything for a little while", Kara says and sits on the couch. "Seventeen years isn't a little while", Alex says. "Sorry. I just needed to think, I don't know. Anyway...have you spoken to Lena?", Kara asked. "You're not even going to ask how I am?", Alex asked. "Fine. How are you?", Kara asked. "I'm fine. And Lena's doing okay. She has a s-", Kara interrupts Alex. "Well, it's been great catching up but I have to go. I'll see you in the morning", Kara says and zooms out of the door. Alex rolls her eyes and walks to her room.
Hours later, Lena opens the drawer of her desk. She pulls out a notebook and starts writing it. She hears wind on the balcony and sighs. "I told you to make sure you wear something on your face when you fly", Lena says. "Why would I do that?", Kara asked and softly lands on the balcony. Lena freezes in shock. She stands and slowly turns around. "What-what are you doing here?", Lena asked. "Aren't you happy to see me? I'm happy to see you. I missed you", Kara says and walks towards Lena. "Things have changed between us. Alot has changed over the years. Where have you been?", Lena asked. Kara stands in front of Lena and stares in her eyes.
"You remember that night together, don't you? I think about it everyday", Kara says and takes Lena's right hand and kisses it. "Kara, I-", Kara interrupts Lena. "Who were you talking to?", Kara asked. "What do you mean?", Lena asked. "You told me to wear something on my face when I fly", Kara responds. "I wasn't referring to you", Lena says. "Then who?", Kara asked. "I-", Lena is interrupted by Samuel walking into the office. "Mom, I have a problem", he says. He sees Kara and stops in his tracks. Lena quickly takes her hand away and walks to the bar. "Hey, sweetie. What's wrong?", Lena asked. "Who is this?", Samuel asked. "Honey, this is-", Kara interrupts Lena.
"Mom? He called you mom", Kara says. "That he did", Lena says. "Who is he?", Kara asked. Lena sighs and looks at Samuel. "Your son", Lena says. "What?", Kara asked. "Mom...what's going on?", Samuel asked. "You do have a mother. Supergirl", Lena says while pointing to Kara. Then, she turns and points to Samuel. "And you have a son. He's seventeen. His name is Samuel and he has the same powers as you. Well...just the flying, for now", Lena says. "You never told me you were pregnant", Kara says. "You left immediately after", Lena says. "You didn't want anything to do with me", Kara says as she walks closer to Lena. Lena looks at Samuel with tears rolling down his face.
"Baby, listen. I didn't want you to know because it wouldn't have meant anything. And Kara and I wasn't exactly on the best of terms", Lena says. "That's not how I remember it", Kara says. "You lied to me. You told me that I didn't have a mother. I knew something was off because how can I just have these powers and you don't. I knew there was someone out there and it turns out it's...supergirl. Cousin of superman and last daughter of krypton", Samuel says. Lena wipes the tears from her eyes. "I'm sorry, son. I just thought that it would be too hard for you to understand because-", Samuel interrupts Lena. "Too hard for me to understand...or you?", Samuel asked then storms out of the office.
Lena looks at Kara and Kara looks down. "I'm sorry, Kara", Lena says as she walks to Kara. "Don't. You-you don't even have a valid reason as to why you would hide my own son. I thought you loved me", Kara says. "I do love you. But I was afraid", Lena says. "Of what?! We could've raised him together! It wouldn't have been so hard for you or him! Seventeen fucking years!", Kara yells. Lena hears a knock on the door and wipes her tears. "Come in", she says. A security guard walks in.
He sees Kara standing on the balcony, facing the outside and Lena facing the wall. "Is everything alright? I heard yelling", the gaurd says. "Yeah, everything is fine", Lena says. "Okay", the guard says then leaves. "Please tell me that you understand", Lena says then turns around and sees an empty balcony. Kara flew away before Lena turned around. Lena walks to the couch and sighs. She grabs the blanket next to her and cries in it.
