Childhood Friends | Boynextdoor [Woonhak x Jaehyun]

P.E, is it Haewon's favorite subject? Definitely not. Does she hate it though? No, since she could talk with her friends, notably, Lily Morrow. She also talked to Woonhak and Jaehyun. But Jaehyun was busy staring at the older boy. "Jaehyun! Watch out!" The girl warned him. He didn't hear her since he was zoned out. A ball hit him in the stomach and he fell back. He landed on his hands and he sprained them.

He stood up quickly without saying anything to the boy who had thrown the ball at him. He rushed to the nurses office, she had him sit down on one of the chairs. "Myung Jaehyun, I'll be back in about 20 minutes, just put this ice pack on your hand" "Ok" The boy held the ice pack wrapped in a paper towel on his hand.

The lady left, the office door was left half open. He stayed alone for a few minutes. The boy started zoning out, what brought him back to reality was the sound of the door opening. "Are you alright? Your fall looked painful"

The younger student looked at the person who had entered the room. Kim Woonhak.

"It just- it's fine" "You'll have to go back to class once the bell rings" "I know" "I'll get a cold piece of paper- of one of the paper towels?" "It won't hold though?" The taller guy looked around the desk and noticed a roll of bandages. "With this?" He proudly showed the roll.

The injured boy watched as his crush went to the sink and took the tissue. He carefully placed it on the sprained wrist. The younger felt heat rush to his face. The taller pressed on the paper. "Right I now need to find a paper clip to hold the bandages in place" He talked to himself while still holding on to the other boy's wrist. He scanned the office and suddenly stood up. "Right here!" He took it and the bandages.

He started rolling it around the wet tissue. "If this was a drama and if I was a girl, this would be the point where I would fall in love with you!" The injured boy's heart sunk in his chest.

"I wished it was a drama, or even some type of romantic book" The heartbroken boy thought to himself (not completely heart broken but ykwim)

"Or where we'd both fall in love if this was the average drama." "Mhm" "oh! By the way, we're going to an arcade so that Kwak Jiseok and I can get girlfriends, would you like to come? Not to get a girlfriend, but maybe to just get social?" "You really want a girlfriend that bad?" "Well, I'd like someone to care about me- in that way" The younger boy thought about something he was about to say, he wanted to say "Let it be me" but he could never, it would ruin their friendship. He can't afford to lose it.

"It's some girls from our class! Taesan didn't tell me who it was" "I'll go" "What?" "I'll come with you, you know- to, to, to-" He thought of what he would lie about. "Socialise" "Wow, Jaehyun getting social?" "If you continue then I won't go!" What he said was an empty threat. Although he wanted Woonhak to be happy, he wanted it to be with him.

"Alright, well, I'm done, even if we should probably return to class, we could also just stay here and talk, besides, you wouldn't be able to play, so you'll be bored." The two friends sat on one of the beds. "We can do the worksheet tomorrow? My parents are at work, so, no one will bother us, and my sister is always busy, she'll probably be at one of her friends houses" "Sure" The class had received the new worksheet for the week.

"Why does he always give such long worksheets?" "Well, they aren't that hard, if you understand and you get about an average of 40 on tests." "That's the thing! I just can't, it's just too hard!" "Well that's why I'm here to help you hyung!" The younger boy then felt weight around his waist. Woonhak had hugged him out of gratitude.

"Thank you!" The shorter boy's heart started beating faster, he didn't know how to react. "Oh, the bell's about to ring, we should probably go back to class" "mhm, yeah" The two stood up and went to their classroom, 121.

"What do we even have?" "History!" "Oh right" The duo walked in the class and went to their seats. They continued talking until everyone had entered the class, the 27 students waited for the teacher to arrive.

Haewon and Lily went over to Jaehyun's desk. "Oh, did you hurt yourself when you fell?" He was about to try to answer but since Lily was looking at him the words wouldn't come out. They were stuck in his throat. "Oh, is it Lily? Do you- can you not talk because of Lily's presence" The boy nodded. "Oh! Well then I'll just go to my seat!" The foreigner waved at the shy boy.

"What happened?" "When I fell, I must've sprained my wrist or something" "Oh, is that why Woonhak left?" "Yeah, he helped me, and then we just talked" "Is it painful?" The injured kid didn't realise he was hurt, Woonhak's presence just made the pain disappear.

"I honestly didn't feel it until you asked me, so not really!" "Well that's great!" "Mhm" "I should go back to my seat, I think the teacher's coming soon" "Yeah, he is, he always arrives three minutes after everyone is inside the class, he first finishes his coffee and then he talks to one of the teachers that we don't have, I think for class 608, I can't remember." "You're still as observant as you were!"

"Well what am I supposed to do? I'm bored most of the time since Woonhak talks with his friends" "oh yeah, you're right!" "We'll talk later right?" "Of course!"

"C'mon Jaehyun! If you're too slow then we will miss the bus and we won't be able to go!" "Right, right hyung" Secretly, he wanted to miss the bus, he wanted them to be alone, just the both of them. But, he wanted Woonhak to be happy, that's the most important, so he hurried packing his books.

"Hurry up!" The older grabbed the other boy by his arm and ran down the stairs to the ground floor. "Wow, there's not many people here" "Yeah" In this context, the "not many people" is still quite crowded, in a school with like 2000 students, it's hard to find an empty place.

So there were about 400 students still in the hallways. The pair left the building and went to the bus station. "Woonhak! You finally made it!" "Sorry hyung, Jaehyun was really slow" "You're coming?" "Uh, yeah?" "Wow, I'm actually pretty surprised" Taesan looked at him again. Myung Jaehyun willingly going out with them.

So like I check my notifications and see that god awful Karl Jacobs imagines book got added to a reading list and like, how tf does that garbage even get reads? Like, should I get you a therapist?

Anyway, I don't really like this chapter, i think it's pretty bad, but I hope you enjoyed!
