Chapter 5: Time Together

Another day had started in the city. Except this time things for one agent of the system were much more different. "Good morning, Miss Broere" Agent Jones said with a small smile trying to tug on his lips. Teo said good morning back and instead of cuddling into her stuffed toy. The item was at her side facing her back and she moved closer to his side of the bed. Jones welcoming the change with him stroking her cheek before giving her a kiss. He got up and started his day far more human like then he used to. Yet still made sure that outside the apartment he was still the same agent others at the agency saw him as. The muscle for the trio of himself, Agent Brown and Agent Smith. Always doing as instructed by Smith. Yet he knew that there were still risks in what he was doing. Jones finished getting ready. Only his shades to be put over his icey blue eyes and his earpiece still to be put in his ear. "If I see you again in that suit, can we just kiss over and over again?" Teo asked as the brunette went into his suited arms again. The agent giving her a quick kiss before he made himself stop. "...if that is what you want, Miss Broere. Although I wouldn't mind staying with you and feeling your lips on my own. I must leave for work...but know I will come back to you" Jones spoke. His words touching her. Yet the young woman still had no idea that the agent she had kissed was just a program and that she was stuck in a pod filled with slime and tubes. In a darkened world that had been reduced to rubble long before she was born. The agent gave her one last kiss before pulling himself away. Leaving to get to his office before he'd feel that he couldn't leave her at all.

Jones entered his office and found yet more files to look at. Seeing it was of more rebels who had been out causing problems for them. No doubt in his mind that Morpheus was likely behind a lot of it. He wondered if any more of Teo's relatives had been unplugged. Wondering if the two who had joined the resistance were still alive or had been killed by Smith or perhaps another agent. Yet one new fear entered his mind as he tried to work. He still didn't know what the new emotion was that he had been feeling to start with when seeing her. Fearing that he might drive himself mad if he didn't know for much longer, but more so that she didn't feel that same way as he did to her. Remembering the story that was surrounding the figure of the beast. As Teo had explained to him that the beast was someone from a story that a beautiful young woman had slowly fallen for despite his monstrous appearance on the outside. Being told in the human fairy tale that the woman found out the beast was a prince who had been cursed when it was lifted. A tale that Jones found nice hearing of even though it was said to be for small children. Yet he saw connections between himself the fictitious beast. Hoping that she really did feel this strange new emotion to him in return. Or if she was just trying to do anything to get her old life back. Part of him hoping he wasn't doing things too quickly between them as he wanted to know. His mind starting to have desires he wanted to experience. But worst of all a part of him feared that once she'd get her freedom she would stay away from him. A part of him also fearing himself in what he would do in response if she'd tried to trick him.

He asked Brown if he could check again to see if anything was different with the brunette's family. Saying that he wanted to see if there was a connection to those Morpheus was trying to free from the simulation. Yet he also started to fear that her relatives in the resistance knew she was still alive and were trying to get her out. Not liking the feeling of being afraid as he was seeing himself as weak and venerable in that state. Part of him just wanting to have Teo close by and hold her close showering her with affection. Make sure no agent of the system or member of the resistance could take her from him. Jones tried to maintain his usual demeanour and Brown said that he would look into it. The youngest of the trio leaving to do as asked until Smith would order him to do something else. The muscle of the trio quickly being alone again with his thoughts and fears. Going through the last three reports on his desk. Until the last one caught his attention and made him fear more again. The last file read that a new member of the resistance had been killed by Agent Smith when out in the field. Discovering the time was only around an hour after Smith talked with him at the agent headquarters. A sense of worry and dread coming over him as he saw the name was someone called Miss Sinead Broere. He looked through Agent Brown's last search into the Teo Broere's family and found out that Sinead was her cousin. Quickly piecing things together that some time after the report she had been unplugged. Yet he didn't know if she knew her cousin wasn't dead before she was killed. Or even if her encounter with Smith was entirely accidental.

Jones finished reading the file even though he felt nervous. Taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down before putting it away in the filing cabinet. Yet he wondered if this glitch making him seem to become more human was something good or bad as he went back to sit at his desk. Only for a thought to soon enter his head as he sat there. He remembered hearing in Teo's explanation of beauty and the beast that the beast let the young woman go to be with her family. Yet she later came back to the beast. He wondered what might happen if he in turn released Teo. Allowing her the choice to leave as the beast did with the young woman in the story. Not knowing if she saw that apartment they had been secretly sharing together for days now was like a prison for her all along. But even though a part of him hoped that if she did have the choice she would choose to be with him. He knew letting her leave still had undoubtable risks attached. Some for himself along with her. The agent knowing that if an agent saw her they might not hesitate to kill her for real. Even if the agent was Smith himself or someone else. A new desire then started to form in his mind. The agent knowing that he already had downloaded an addon to himself. But felt like he wanted to add more for something. Jones deciding that he would make his choice after doing one last thing.

Jones went back to his apartment now having nothing to do. The agent having downloaded three more addons to himself to make sure if he was to carry out one of his desires. But he didn't want it to be a reality by himself forcing her to do it. Agent Jones partially wanting to have downloaded more onto himself yet he knew he was just a combat unit having not as much access to things like command units such as Agent Smith would. But he felt that if he wanted to badly enough. He could try to become a command unit himself and then program himself to however he desired. Yet he knew he still had to be cautious. Even though he questioned what he was feeling and if the emotion was just from the glitch or now if he was genuinely starting to care for her. A part of his mind still hoped that she really did have feeling for him like he did as well. The agent knocked on the door and Teo opened it. The young woman having a small smile on her face before he went inside and he knew it was just them in the room. Jones kissed her softly on the lips telling her he'd missed her for hours. The comment making the brunette chuckle as she thought he sounded like a love sick puppy before she said he was cute. The words making him start to blush before he asked if they could kiss like she asked. "If you just wanted to kiss me all day then why get into that suit in the first place...not that I'm complaining though" Teo said muttering out the last part yet not quietly so he could hear everything she said. She pressed her back close to him and he let out a moan. The agent being surprised that he did that. But missed having her so close. "Can we do more then kiss, Miss Broere?...I want it...I desire it" Jones said before turning her around and looking at her seriously. Adding that he wouldn't force her into anything she didn't want. The brunette staying quiet before she nodded her head and said that she did.
