I gasp sharply as I woke up from the fearful dream of my mother and that dreadful man. I shiver slightly feeling as if I were still staring into his ice cold, piercing eyes. Shaking the frightning scene out of my head, I slide out of my bed and head downstairs to greet my aunt.

"Good morning Aunt Olivia," I say with a slightly hazy voice. " Oh good morning child!" She exclaimed, "Heavens, I didn't even here you come down, you're like a little ninja. So tell me did you sleep well?" " Well, sure," I replied doubtingly, it was true. Even though my dream was pretty gruesome, it wasn't the worst. I've had dreams where I was in my mother's place and the man was killing me! "But I'm still having those dreams." " Well, at least the dreams aren't as bad as before right?" She replied optimistically. I nodded as I nibbled on a small piece of toast and licked off the homemade cherry jam. There was a few moments of silence where neither of us knew what to say next. "Oh that's right!" Exclaimed my aunt, "Tamra, I'm going to need you to go down to the market place today to pick up some vegetables for me. We're going to be having to some company this afternoon for lunch!" "I'll get ready and head down there right now, I replied somewhat enthusiastic, and ran upstairs.

I was quite eager to get out of the house, it's been a while since I've gotten any fresh air in my system. I quickly got dressed, and brushed my long, dark hair. I stared at myself in the mirror, it was the first time in weeks that I actually really looked at myself. I was wearing loose, dark brown pants that had cuffs just below the kneecap that were embroidered with gold and emerald thread, and a emerald green, strapless, midriff top that was embroidered with strands of golden thread and mandarin coloured gems. My accessories were minimal, I had on a brown silk scarf, a black hair tie and a golden bracelet that was once my mother's. I was the spitting image of my mother, high cheek bones, strawberry coloured lips, heartshaped face. The only thing that was different were my eyes. I had my father's eyes, dark chocolate brown, shining with intelligence. Emotions started to swell inside of me and memories were running inside my head. I caught the tear running down my cheek before it could fall down my chin. I mustn't cry, I think to myself, the man who did this isn't worthy of my tears. I catch one last glimpse of my reflection then rush downstairs.

As I walked towards the door I gingerly slip on my black flats, "I'm going now Aunt Olivia!" I yell down the hall. " Alright sweetie, bye. Oh, and buy some sweets in the bakery for me will you?" She replies. "Sure thing!" I say, and the next moment I'm out the door.

I walked through the busy market place carrying my woven basket full of vegetables, I look around and I really take in the lifestyle of the area. I'm mesmerized by the beauty of it all when a sweet scent passes my nose, it is the scent of butter, cream and freshly baked bread. I turn around and there was the bakery. Announcing that they were selling freshly baked goods, I walked into the shop with a great, big smile on my face and a very ravenous stomach. There I bought two dozen assorted sweet treats and a nice giant cream puff for myself to enjoy.

I took a big bite out of my cream puff as soon as I stepped outside of the bakery. It's sweet cream immediately exploded in my mouth leaving me wanting more. I took the last small bite of my cream puff and smiled delightfully as I started to head back to my aunt's house.

I hear a small snicker behind me, I turn around and see a curvy girl around my age with long, chestnut brown hair. She was wearing a plum coloured crop top and a plum miniskirt .

"Why are you dressed like that?" She asked obnoxiously.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Like trash".

"What!?"

"Do you not understand me? LIKE TRASH. I mean honestly what is with that antique, rusted bracelet?"

"This is my mother's bracelet", I snapped furiously.

"Do you think I care" , the girl answered, oblivious to my anger. "Whatever, I can't waste my time in someone like....you".

I scoffed annoyed with my surprise encounter. I see a dirt covered earthworm, then I used my earth bending to slowly lift the worm and lower it into to tiny top. Then I smirked slightly and walked away feeling somehow satisfied.
