Chapter 1: First Sighting

Sonic and Tails were on the couch together with the T.V on as a background noise. Tails was drawing some blueprints, or just some random doodles, and Sonic was reading a book. It was a pretty peaceful day. No trouble, no attacks, just.. peace and quiet. It had been like that for the past weeks and Sonic found it boring.

Tails got up, placing the pen down on the paper and he walked off to the kitchen. He was probably looking for more mints to eat. At this point Tails has eaten four tins of mint and it wasn't even eight in the morning yet. He soon came back with yet another tin of mints.

"Tails, you're not eating anymore mints after that tin," Sonic said, his gaze turned its attention to the young fox.

Tails sighed as he placed down the container on the table, "Alright, Sonic," he said. Tails then sat back down and opened the tin, he took a mint out of it.

Sonic then went back to reading the book. He then finished it minutes later before he closed the book. He got up and he headed to his bedroom, he walked upstairs, opened his door, then entered his room.

The room was quite big, because Sonic picked it to be his room, there was a wall full of pictures of him and his friends, framed. His bed had a red blanket, and a couple of white pillows that were either soft or fluffy. There was a shelf, a singular, large window, a mat, and a box full of things that he collected on his past adventures near the corner he slept at.

Sonic didn't bother to turn on the lights and went to the wooden shelf. He placed the book on a pile of other books before he left the room, back into the living room.

"Don't you find it weird that Eggman hasn't attacked in awhile?" Tails asked out of nowhere when Sonic came downstairs. He munched on one mint candy, took another and ate that too.

Sonic walked back to the seat, "Well, I checked his base yesterday, Orbot and Cubot says that he just disappeared the night before and that Metal is looking for Eggman," Sonic replied as he slumped on the couch. He peaked over Tails' shoulder to see what he was drawing. "Blueprints, boring," Sonic sighed in boredom as he looked outside the window behind the couch.

"'Just disappeared'? Like, just vanished, again?" The two-tailed fox turned to look at Sonic, a bit of suspicion was on his expression.

"Yeah, sounds bad but if Eggman went 'missing' on purpose to work on something big, he would've taken Orbot, Cubot, and especially Metal with him, so, he might've gotten kidnapped, lost his memory again or something like that," Sonic said, seemingly unbothered.

Tails thought a bit before he said, "Good point.."

"Anyways, Imma go for a run now, c'ya!" Sonic hopped off of the couch, dashed outside, and left the front door open.

Luckily some of Eggman's robots were still roaming around so he could destroy them, for heroic purposes only, not like he needed entertainment or anything.

He decided to take a run far from cities and villages or towns and just take a run though the greenery.

The wind gently pulled back Sonic's quills, he found that feeling quite nice. He then came across a flower field that he saw about three days ago and slowed down to a walk, "I could probably chill out there before doing something else," Sonic thought. He wondered towards the flowers, looked down at the ground and then knelt down to have a closer look. The flowers looked like daisies but they don't at the same time, Sonic picked a flower and sniffed it.
