Chapter 2: A Spar

Sonic looked at the readings on the Miles Electric. "..What's this supposed to mean?"

Tails had made a miniature tank for the buttery to stay in while he tested to see what was happening with the them. He even decorated it with the stuff he found nearby the town from yesterday.

"It's just some graphs about the butterfly's status and health, and this one," Tails said as he switched to another chart, "is the results from the little sample test I did earlier."

The results were a comparison to a normal butterfly and the bigger butterfly. There wasn't much changes luckily. It could be harmless for now.

"The results were quite interesting to say the least. This butterfly seems to have some type of virus which is causing the size abnormality," Tails said.

Virus... He hoped it wouldn't be like last time.

Sonic hummed as he listened to Tails and continued to look at the graphs.

"Well, I'm going to leave you at it." Sonic stretched out his legs. "Call me when something happens," He told Tails before he zipped out of the house.

The cold air had hit him the moment he stepped outside which caused him to shiver.

The insect looked like it was slowly getting bigger too — or was that just him? The butterfly had purple and navy patterns which also seemed to be changing. Its wings shone in any light possible, meaning it was quite easy to spot in daylight and night if there were any light sources around.

There had been a few more sightings of abnormal sizes of insects in the past few hours. There was two ladybugs that was about the size of a mobian's hand, a couple of aphids about the size of a tarantula, and there was more, like flies, beetles, ants, and crickets.

He hadn't realised where his feet were taking him — he wanted to go check out that forest he saw yesterday, but instead he was infront of the entrance to Restoration HQ.

He then decided that it would be a good time to check up on his friends. The forest can surely wait. It'd give him something to explore and a place to chill when he was done with whatever he was going to do today.

As he entered the building, he decided that he wanted to check out some things. He hadn't been there for awhile anyway.

After, Sonic could be spotted leaning against one of the railings that could be found in the Restoration HQ.

He glanced down at the area below, everyone seemed to be busy with at least something.

Sonic had been leaning on the cold metal for a while to the point his forearms became sore so he stopped and stood up straight. He ate the chili dog he held in his hand in two bites before he wandered off.

The Restoration had slightly grown since the last time he'd been there. There was more mobians around, more weapons of some sorts, and definitely more Chao wandering around as there was a new Chao Garden built somewhere.

That was what he heard.

He took a quick glance at his surroundings before he spotted Tangle and Whisper together with Jewel. It seemed like that Jewel was taking a break considering how often she was in her office.
