Immediately after the draft, Ryan left for Atlanta to begin contract negotiations. They settled on a 5 year contract worth 16.5 million with a signing bonus of 10.7 million. "You know you have the potential to be really great, Ryan?" Coach Quinn said. Ryan patted coach on the shoulder and said to him, "Coach, I will always work my hardest for as long as I play for you. If God allows me to be great, then I will be great." Coach Quinn walked Ryan to the front of the Falcons headquarters. "Well, I'll see ya at OTA's and training camp here in a few, my man." Coach says to Ryan. "Take care, Coach!" Ryan drives off to the hotel where he stayed the night.
