chapter 1 the plan

James Potter was a well loved person at Hogwarts and a great friend too. so when he seemed upset like he was now it was odd.

James who was in the Gryffindor's common room sat on the couch in front of the fire, he had the daily profit in front of him as he sighed. he was too focused on his thoughts to hear the person coming down the steps "alright, mate?"

Sirius black his best friend since 1st year, oh good.

"Oh, Pads didn't see ya there mate, yeah I'm alright just this god sake war" he took a breath in "A half blood family killed this morning" he heard Sirius come closer.

"Not to be funny mate, but isn't it kinda normal now? Especially half blood families, I mean did they find who did it?" James looked blankly at his best friend "of course but this one is different"

"How so mate?" James ran his hand throw his hair "the kid, only 5 mind you, was uhm-" he leaned closely "the kid was turned" "turned? You mean like a-" James cut him off "yes like that"

he could tell Sirius panicked there "does moony know" all the sudden a voice interrupts from the steps both James and Sirius faces go pale.

"do I know what?" We both looked at him "moony, mate sleep good yeah?" "A'right I guess? but what don't I know?" he had a look of confused.

Pete came down and throw a copy of it at Remus "don't tell me these bell-ends are haven't told ya yet" he stood cross armed .

"Pete god sake, warn me first" Remus look down at the paper as his face dropped "look moony mate its probably nothi- " "nothing? Prongs these are kids!" Sirius shaked his head at Pete "oh god he is bad-" Sirius looked but when be heard the hurt in Remus voice "but gray-" Sirius was stopped by the portrait opening as Lily, Mary and Marlene came storming in.

"A Slytherin...A SLYTHERIN, marls you in for one i tell ya" Mary spoke firmly "whats going on girls" Mary looked at Pete who spoke "oh I tell you, Marlene gone and fucked us all over" Remus looked up confused "I'm sorry what?" Mary sat on the chair at the side

"She goin snogin and shagin a slytherin for month behind our backs, she has!" Mary crossed her arms and huffed "Mary it's not that big of a deal" Marlene huffed back at her as she sat next to James putting her legs over his lap

Now James and Marlene has been best friends since they where born. There has never had anything romantic between them and that's completely fine, James was the first person Marlene came out to and that was that, no question needed to be asked. Ever since them James has always been there for her even more.

"Wait what slytherin?" Everone looked at Sirius when he said that "Dorcas Meadowes, do you 'know' her?" Sirius shaked "no, oh god no, not personally but she is pals with my brother" "Oh! Yeah Regulus black I forgot yous are related" Lily called out, Lily has never been one for gossip so when it comes to anything that's not her business she normally doesn't care "Lils if you cared for the gossip at this school you would of known" Mary spoke proudly as Lily just went back to her book

After a few hours of killing times before they need to go back to class James peeped up "guys I just had a idea" lily rolled her eyes "Well that's a first" "oh hush Evans let the man speak go on prongs tell us" James smiled at Sirius "why thank you pads, anyway! no one here like the war aye?" They all aggred "well of course James innocent people are dieing. Its disgusting really" Marlene spoke up "See here, there is one think we can do about it" lily huffed "and what is that potter" James smiled innocently "runaway" he mentioned as his accent slipped through

James uesed to have a lovely Spanish accent back in 1st year but hanging around the others got rid of that quickly. "what do you mean potter?" Marlene questioned but looked interested "like all of us leave, run, go away from the war. You can ask Meadowes and her group aswell"

"James how are we gonna pull that of we are only 14 well except Sirius and Marlene" lily looked over at him "I'm glad you asked lils, so my family have this big cottage up in the scottish highlands, it's like got a big bit of woods around it. if I tell my mum why we are runing she will let us stay there" James seemed so proud of himself

Marlene looked over at everone "you know what I'm in" she looked at the girls who looks like they won't say yes "come on girls we all hate this war it's not like we will be going forever"

Lily huffed giving up "Fine, okay I will come" Mary sighed buy smiled "if marls and lils are in, so am i" "good! Pete, Remus what about yous?" James asked already knowing Sirius was in. Anything to get his away from his parents "I see why not" Pete smiled "I guess if everyone else is plus someone needs to makes sure Pads don't get lost" Sirius chuckled and throw a pillow at him

"it's settled then I will get the stuff from mum, Remus and Sirius are coing to mine anyway this summer, Pete will meet us at mine" lily chimed "Marlene and Mary can come to mine and we meet you at the train station?"

"Bloody brilliant!, but what about Meadowes group" Sirius sighed "knowing reggie he will do anything barty does and barty does anything Evan does those 3 are never apart and if Dorcas goes they definitely will" Marlene chimed in "I can talk to Dorcas!"

"Great! Tomorrow we can all meet together and talk about the plan more but come on let's to get class" they all left but Remus who looked around remembering everything happy thats when down in this common room the party's, the late night talks, the boys finally beings friends with the girls, Sirius dancing to David Bowie with him after geting a bit too drunk, the Christmas him and Sirius spent together and Pete telling them that he is asexual and so much more.

Hogwarts was his home and it will always be but maybe running away all together will be good

with a quick sighs he takes a breaths in and he runs out to get the others, saying good bye to his home
