"Noreen?" She heard someone try to wake her. She fluttered her eyes open and saw Neil standing over her bed. Bed? She sat up quickly. That was a mistake.
"Ugh." She groaned, holding her head.
A nurse walked in.
"Oh good, she's awake. Hello, sweetheart. My name is Nurse Bowden. You fell and hit your head so your friends brought you here. You should be fine, we just need to check for a concussion, then you're free to go." She bustled about the room and asked Noreen a million questions. "Okay, Ms. Murphy. I'll get your paperwork and you can go home. Just take it easy." She left, leaving her and Neil alone in the room.
"Neil?" She asked, timidly.
"Yes, love?" He replied nervously. He knew what she wanted to know.
"What happened?" She asked, like he knew she would, in a broken voice. He looked down at their hands and squeezed hers before answering slowly. "Sharon told us what happened in the waiting room. Apparently she fell down the stairs at her apartment. Somebody called 999 and she went to the hospital, but she was in a coma and didn't last for more than an hour. She died peacefully, and didn't feel a thing." At this point they were crying silently together. "Hayley- Jo has been calling repeatedly since Sharon told you. I answered your phone, I hope you don't mind, and talked to her. She is taking a break from school and coming to visit before the tour starts up. You and her are going to choreograph a memorial dance for her. Everyone is going to do it. Hayley can't stay but Sharon wants you to star in it. Can you do that?" He asked her, tilting her head up with his fingers and looking into her eyes. She nodded and reached out to hug him. She breathed into his neck and took comfort in his scent. They broke apart when Nurse Bowden came back with the paperwork.
"You guys are so cute together. When are you guys getting married?" Her head snapped up.
"What?" She was very confused.
"Well he's your fiancé isn't he? We only let family into the hospital rooms." That sneaky bastard. She laughed.
"Yes, we're engaged. We haven't picked a date yet." She smiled at the nurse and they chatted while she did the paperwork.
"Okay, you're free to go. Get better soon." She left swiftly.
"You told her we were engaged?" She turned and pinched him in the stomach. All she came up with was abs, but it looked like it hurt a little.
"Well how else was I supposed to see you when you woke up?" He smiled the adorable smile he used to get out of trouble.
"Ugh. Fine. Now carry me." She raised her arms and winked. She was joking, but he really did it. She shreiked. "Neil!"
"What? Remind you of a drunken night a long time ago?" He smirked.
"Oh, shove it. Take us home. I want to hug my lads and wait for my cousin to get here." She snuggled into his chest and waited till he put her in the cab. She felt empty until Neil got in on the other side. She was going to need him.Thought you guys would want the story before I keep going. Just a reminder that the death of Belinda did not really happen. Also, just wanted to say that guys, votes are super important. The more votes, the more people see it. My CK story had almost twice the votes at this point in the story, so please vote if you are reading and share the sort with people you think would like it. Appreciate it! Vote and comment.
