Ashley's POV

"Is she ok?" I asked worriedly. Mario and I was having a lunch at the Indochine. He was so attentive and glowing. The same feelings when I saw him this morning looking impeccably dashing in his suit. I love everything about him. I can't believe he was showing me so much affection I never dreamed it will happen.

He looked distressed after that call with Lauren. And looks like it didn't bid well.

"She's mad." he whined petulantly, pouting his lips. He looks adorable when he does it. It's odd to find it cute, you know? From a guy..

"She'll be fine. I know Zandros love her so much, just to leave it like that without him making a way to get her back. Zandros is a persistent man. He will win her affection back." I comforted as I smiled at him reassuringly.

"I know he will. The look in his face this morning gave me the assurances that he was indeed in love with my little Lauren.

I smiled when he uttered the last word. The feeling of insecurities was gone. I felt secured that Lauren is not a competition.

"I knew he is. I saw how he looked at her at the party." I commented as I smiled as I replayed that scene in my head. He looks dumb struck when Lauren emerged in the room.

"Let's talk about us." Mario changed the subject and he was looking straight into my eyes. My heart was pounding loudly and I don't know why. I felt so anxious all of a sudden. His eyes was saying something differently and I couldn't pin point it.

"Right!" I agreed as I chuckled.

"Do you love me Ashley? Because I do!" He asked bluntly. Locking his eyes on mine passionately.

"Yes! I do love you!" I uttered passionately. Pouring all the feelings in it.

"I wanted to tell you.. that.." Then he paused and sighed heavily. He looks like he's bothered. Suddenly, I felt nervous.

"What is it?" I replied casually in my tone that I could muster as I grab my wine glass and made a sip.

"I can't bear being away from you Ash. Just the thought of you thousand miles away from me, is unbearable." he sighed painfully. He made a sip on his wine and put it down after. He looks like he's struggling to find his words..

"I'm sorry, but you know I have work to do, right?" I replied trying not to sound choking. I felt the lump stuck in my throat when the realization hit me. Indeed, we are thousand miles apart. It never dawned on me. I was too happy and enjoying our moment together not even thinking about our future. I'm just so happy that this relationship wasn't a short one. He was thinking about our future.

"I know. That's why I wanted to make sure you're mine!" he sounded determined.

"I am yours!" I replied happily. I was so happy. I was smiling from ear to ear.

"I know.. I mean completely." he replied eagerly as he reached for my hands and clasp it with his.

My heart was pounding incessantly and I sat there frozen. Is he proposing? My head suddenly got numb.

"I know, we just met early and we barely know each other, but I knew the moment I kissed you, you're the girl I wanted to share my life with... Forever. Ashley Averill, will you marry me?" he proposed lovingly. His eyes was full of love. I felt so overwhelmed. I didn't expect this. Mario David, whom I have loved for a long time was now proposing to me? Am I dreaming? Is this some kind of a joke?
