Two months passed before I saw Beyoncé again and when I did she wasn't the same. I walked out of my house, not really paying attention until she spoke.

"Wow no compliments on my outfit today? I tried to look nice for you, wore a suit and everything." She said making my head shoot up. She had a small smile on her face and it broke my heart not to see her big goofy one.

I walked over to her and engulfed her in a tight hug which she reciprocated almost immediately. She let me know two weeks into her absence that it was indeed her parents that were killed at the restaurant in Houston and she had to go gain custody of her younger sisters Solange and Angie.

"I'm so glad you're back you have no idea." I said as I pulled away from the hug with a smile.

"I'm glad to be back. A sister was bout to go broke, teenagers are expensive." She said with a laugh. She helped me into the car as always before getting in the driver's seat to take me to my firm.

"I can only imagine. How are the girls doing? Adjusting well to New York?" I asked as we drove down the road.

"They're doing as well as they can. They definitely love the city though, always wanting to go to Times Square just to look around." She said glancing at me through the rear view mirror.

"A lot different from Houston I bet. Maybe I can get my niece one of these weekends so they'll have a friend." I suggested. I knew Kierra would love to visit and it wouldn't hurt for them to get to know each other during this time.

"How is Kierra? I haven't seen her since Karen and Drew moved to D.C." She asked. Before she became my driver she was Drew's which made the decision of hiring her easy on my end. Drew only recommended reliable people.

"She's doing good, it's her senior year so she's all excited for prom and graduation." I replied making her nod.

"I have to deal with that this year too. Sending two teenage girls to prom is gon kill me I swear." She said with a playful groan which made me laugh.

"It won't be that bad. If anything I can help." I said making her immediately shake her head.

"Nah you've done more than enough for us this past month, I can't even begin to thank you enough." She said as we approached a red light.

"It's no problem, honestly. I can and want to do more for you guys. I know how it feels to lose both parents at once." I sighed.

"Man, I wasn't built for this. I kept their phones on just to hear their voicemails whenever I call." She said as she tapped her thumb on the steering wheel.

"I kept my mother's voicemails for years. It definitely does help to have some sort of reminder of them. Lets you know they're still here, even if they aren't in the flesh." I said making her nod as she started driving again.

"You got anywhere to go today? Or just pick you up at five?" She asked glancing back at me at the perfect time.

The sun hit her face just perfectly, making her amber irises sparkle through her long lashes. I felt my heart flutter and my stomach churned as I looked at her.

"Short day today. I'll be done at one." I said quickly trying to ignore the butterflies that were coursing through my body.

"I might have the girls with me. I don't know if I'll have time to drop them off and pick them up before getting you." She said almost apologetically.

"That's fine, gives me a chance to meet them. Maybe we can go get lunch or something." I suggested and almost immediately regretted.

Never in two years have I had one on one time with Beyoncé outside of this car. What was I thinking?!

"Oh so now you wanna ask me to lunch? I've been trynna take you out 'fa two years Rinny." She laughed as she pulled up in front of the firm.

"It's nothing more than a friendly lunch, you keep trying to take me on a date date." I said rolling my eyes. She got out of the car and came over, opening my door and helping me out.

"Of course, you deserved to be wined and dined, been told you to put me in the game coach! I'll win us the championship." She said doing some little side step like she was playing basketball.

I looked at her, laughing at her goofiness while I shook my head.

"Girl you are something else. I've been saying no for two years, get somebody else to do it." I said waving her off.

"And I'll ask for twenty more. Don't make me quit my job just so I can be with you Rinny. You know you want me baby." She said licking her bottom lip as she watched me walk into the building.

I turned around and saw her leaning against the car with her hands in her pockets as the wind slowly blew, making her hair fall in her face just the right way.

I quickly turned back and walked into the building as I battled with my feelings.

Maybe I do want her.
