"Did you see the new students?" a feminine voice gushed as she approached her other friends as they entered the school gates.
"I don't think anyone has, classes, haven't even started yet." her friend responded with a slight giggle.
"Yeah, but you can tell who's been here since the year started and who hasn't!" the girl explained as she grabbed onto her friend's arm, "They probably stick out like a sore thumb if you think about it."
"I hope they're cute!"
"Me too! I heard it's two boys and one girl!"
You listen to the students ahead of you, and to be frank, you understand the curiosity. It seemed only normal to hold wonder for something new, and this wasn't an expectation. Just like all the other first year in the school, they hoped that the new students would be placed in their class.
You were no different in this case, class B-19 was boring just like all the other classes in this building. This is precisely why you along with many others seemingly hoped that these new students would bring something interesting into their lives.
Transfer students weren't common, in the context of moving in the middle of the second term. No one knew anything about these students which only made the appeal more wide.
Do they live in Osaka as well? What school did they formally attend? Would they be funny, attractive, smart?
Simple questions formed from curiosity which would all be answered as you stared at the new students who stood in front of the class.
The only girl, who you learned to be named Nobara Kugisaki was the shortest out of the trio but seemed to be the most outgoing. Just from the way she stood with her hand on her hip paired with her polished appearance, although wearing the same simple uniform as the rest of the students.
She stuck out like a sore thumb in almost a perfect way, you could tell who she was just by glancing at her.
The boy with the pink hair was the next to catch your eye. His name was Yuji Itadori and seemed to be ready to defend his "naturally" colored hair as he could already feel the teacher stare at the side of his head.
He had this wide smile on his face that seemed to be permanently printed onto his face. His voice sounded like a fresh breath of air, just the way you could hear the kindness vowed into each vowel spoken made it feel like you were next to the salty sea.
The last student who was introduced was Megumi Fushiguro, the quietest out of the bunch, and in your opinion the most attractive. He had eyes that seemed to hold the reflection of the finest jewel in the world, and the face of blessing.
He didn't speak much unlike his peers only gracing the class with a simple introduction, but that didn't matter as he had all the girls in the class smitten.
Unlucky for you, the Fushiguro kid and his other two friends were seated on the other side of the classroom. At least you had the slightest luck of them even being placed in the same class as you- but it won't matter within weeks.
It was just something to keep you interested in the current school dynamic, but now that it's over you could only wonder what was next.
By the time lunchtime arrived, you had practically been moving about the day on autopilot. With a simple lunch in front of you that you packed the night before, you stayed in the classroom with some other students as people came in and out with their friends.
You didn't mind- you never did.
"It doesn't make sense!" Itadori whined as he followed behind his friends as they carefully opened the school's back door.
