Chapter 18: Breaking Free: by Skillet (featuring Lacey Strum)

Full Moon-Day of

The next day was a tense one for everyone concerned. Emotions were high and everyone was on edge, trying to keep themselves busy.

"Ugh! Waiting is the worse!"

Lizzie, in a fit of uncontrolled magic, exploded the punching bag that Hope had her working with.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Hope was able to sidestep the explosion and avoid being covered with sand. Standing there in a sports bra and shorts, the tribrid shook her head at the explosion. It was the third one in the past hour. With a smothered laugh, she walked over to grab a new bag and hung it up for the blonde while she magically cleared away the old one.

"Again. Try to stay focused. This will help with the anxiety."

"Why do I have to do this, while Josie gets to mix potions with your aunt Freya?"

"Because Freya needed help and you said that potion making was boring and you would rather fight a monster. So, she is mixing magic, and you are training to fight monsters."

"This isn't what I had in mind."

A smirk appeared on Hope's face, and she moved out from behind the punching bag. Lizzie immediately took a step back and raised her hands.

"I know what that smirk means, our niece is about to cause some trouble."

"Kol, don't encourage her, you know what happened the last time she got that look."

"Yeah, I do, I still have the scars, bloody magic, but oh was that ever a fun night. Come on Bex, you know you want to raise a little hell."

The blonde vampire smirked and shook her head.

"No one tell Freya or Josie for that matter."

Hope reached out and grabbed Lizzie's hand, taking off the boxing gloves and leading the group down the stairs headed for the front gate.

"Where do you all think you are going?"

"Busted!"

Turning around, the group saw Freya and Josie, along with Bonnie coming out of the elder witch's office. All of them now had their arms crossed and eyebrows raised. It was scary how three witches could scare immortal beings.

"Just going on an outing. We are trying to relieve some stress, so we thought we would just take a walk, see where we ended."

Hope pasted a smile on her face, while Lizzie tried not meeting her twins' eyes and Rebekah and Kol attempted not to laugh.

"Great, then you wouldn't mind if we came with you. We were just in the mood for a break ourselves."

"Sure, sounds great."

Josie looked at Freya and shook her head. She walked over to meet her twin and fiancé, giving them both a playful smack to the arm.

"Really, you were going to go out and look for a fight, weren't you?"

"We weren't going to look for one, per se, we just weren't going to avoid finding one."

Freya looked at her younger siblings and shook her head. They truly were worse than children sometimes.

"Don't you remember what happened the last time you three went out? I mean honestly, and you were going to take Elizabeth with you?"

"What, she has us, she wouldn't get hurt."
