WINDMILL VILLAGE ▰

There was always bound to be a way to end to something that was happy, including being with family.

Destruction engulfing the once lively homes of a well known crew who had previously sailed the seas, a well known crew who had a fear bestowed on them and their name for miles despite the good that they brought to people.

Their leader was someone who didn't and wouldn't give up on them and what they were capable of. Someone who had made their names known and feared.

Even though their leader had taken a break from that life for his new family, they stuck close and together like always. It was a family. One way or another.

However, the purple haired male, the leader of the well known crew, had made numerous enemies while he had sailed the sea. Being ambushed by one of them who had managed to find a way to take them all down by cheating with something he knew would get rid of the purple haired man and his family. Making it clear that he had spies on the inside. He had trusted too easily and it was his downfall.

"Take her. Take her and go as far as you can." The man spoke. "We will not be able to accompany you to safety."

"But Sir-." The woman crewmate spoke.

"But nothing. This is an order. We need her to be out of here. They cannot know of her making it out just yet. I cannot keep her safe anymore so I turn to you. Please. Take her. I know you will raise her right and with the good intentions we always have had." The man continued.

"You and your wife.."

"Her mother is waiting for me. We are the last one's. You must hurry and set sail before they find out. We'll stall them for as much as we can." The man placed a necklace on the young girl before placing a kiss to her forehead.

"I'm not going." The young seven year old spoke up as she had been listening the whole time to what he had been saying. Understanding what he was saying. She didn't want to leave them behind.

"You must go." The man spoke.

"What's going on?" The young girl asked.

The man felt weak to his knees. His eyes holding more emotions than his features as he looked at her. Tears pricking at his eyes to be released. Bloodied clothes and fresh wounds scattered all over him.

Most of the blood not even his. Covered by the blood of a few he managed to kill in time before the attack got too out of control.

"Mom and dad will be staying to clean up a mess made here." The man spoke. His voice cracking at the lie.

"I know you're lying." The girl replied as she stayed in the crewmate's arms. "I saw.. things. Bad men and then they..." She pointed behind him.

"You still have a good eye." The man spoke as he let out a sad chuckle. "A bit too well.." He mumbled. Taking a moment to himself before placing another kiss to her head as he finally broke down. "I'm going to miss you so much. You shouldn't have seen any of this at your age. I wanted to keep all of this out of your life."

"I'm not leaving without you or mom." She spoke up.

"You will be safe and you will make it out of here." He spoke. "Just remember that your mom and dad love you very much."

Another woman ran up to them as she noticed their daughter was safe and sighed in relief. "It's time." She spoke. "I can't hold them back for much longer."

"Mom! Mom, tell him you're both coming with us. You're not leaving me alone, are you?"

The woman walked over with more saddness in her features and tears down her cheeks. "You have to go with her. Okay? Promise me you'll be good."

"I don't want to go!" The girl raised her voice as she teared up. Her hands reaching out to them. She was young but she knew what was going on. She could understand their goodbyes.

The woman sobbed more before hugging her daughter. Placing a small kiss on her forehead to seal her powers with a spell she knew. She knew it was her last hug with her. "I love you." She spoke. "And I always will. You will grow up and be a very strong young lady." She sniffed before pulling back. "You will always be the daughter of-." Being caught off as another explosion happened.

"Take her! Now!" The man spoke to his only crewmate alive. "Keep her safe for us."

"I can only try." The woman spoke as her voice faltered. Rushing off and onto a safe boat they had for emergencies. Taking the girl with her to escape.

The young girl kicked and hit her arm to be released. "Mom! Dad! Don't leave me! I don't wanna go!" She cried out. "I'm not going!"

The woman raised her hand to send a wind their way. Sending them a bit away before placing a barrier up. Pressing her hand against it. "Celestia.. be careful.."

The man and woman stayed behind on the deck. Watching them sail away before turning to the group surrounding them. Reaching over and holding one another's hand before being ambushed and impaled.

The woman having to cover the young girl's mouth to muffle her screams and her cries. Being too late to shield her from the gruesome scene she had to see. Managing to escape as she held the crying girl. It was something that would haunt her for the years to come.

It was devastating to say the least. Having to row away in silence while the girl cried and had to be silenced. The light from their home became smaller and smaller the further they sailed away.

A man on shore walked over the scattered bodies. Taking out any survivors. Watching the boat sail away.

"Sir, should we hunt them down?" A man beside him asked. A traitor to the renowned pirate they had just killed.

The man listened to his mate before stabbing him. "Not at all." Watching him fall as he smirked. "I will wait for her to grow and strike when she least expects it." He laughed before walking away. "You can run little one but for how long will you be able to." Coughing up blood as he hissed. "Just wait and see what I have in store for you."
