Chapter 5: The Actress

Dr. Tim gave us a morning wakeful alarm, voices of negotiation of people, it’s quite irritating to hear but there’s no choice. It’s like someone is talking to me using my brain when Dada used the small device he gave us to tell us to go downstairs now. I hurried, no breakfast and went immediately to the living room, I also saw my teammates going down but Dada stopped us and gave us formal dresses, he gave me this plain-blue-tube dress.

The living room is like having a great party, lot of foods are prepared in a long red table. While changing my clothes in my closet, I remembered what happened last night between me and Ely, my mind continues to say I should never do that kiss again.

“One minute guys and go down to the living room, those people down there are the directors and big people in popular companies, your task is to make one of them sign in associating their money to you, I will not interfere, just do what you know how to make them believe in you. Remember to use different personality; don’t let them know your real human nature, good luck guys. I’m just here watching,” Dada explained using the small device that attached in our ears.

I’m not good at acting; I don’t know what to say. As I go down, I acted like a reputable person but I can’t stop looking at my sides, I’m nervous, I wish Ely’s there to help me what to say. I first saw an old rich man and I come to him, he looked at me so crazy that I wanted to shout. He greeted me and asked my name, what to say? I looked at Veronica at the other side having a good time talking to a business man. He made him sign on her contract at once. And the other teammates are under processing in having conversation. I lose.

“I’m Candies...” I said nervously.

“Oh, how sweet is your name” the old man continue and a little confused.

Suddenly, a man fired his gun many times and shouted that the party was over. I don’t know what should I do next, I’m shocked that I stabbed the man using the food knife to his shoulder.  We run on the side of the long table, confused. I don’t know what is happening.

“Oh guys, Veronica finished first, no need to continue this. Cindy, I just want to say that the name “Candies” is not even credible, use another believable name next time.  But you guys are good actors. Go get some breakfast now.” The guy with the gun is Dr. Tim; he used it to finish the show. “Veronica the player.”

I don’t have much patience to find my strength but that’s how the game works.

Before Dada leaves us, he told us something with his eyes full of imagination. “Uhm, remember this please, pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. Pain is the reaction of the body, and as long as you have the body, some pain is inevitable. Suffering is the contraction of the mind, and unlike pain, is optional. Don't add suffering to pain, - relax your mind and the suffering will pass.” What he said made me feel better in trainings, and made me have more hope and strength in everything.
