After a long, nasty divorce. Kinger had become a shell of his former self. His life depended souly on his routine of: wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, work, eat lunch, work, go home, eat dinner, sleep.
He could feel himself falling into a repetitive depression but just couldn't find the willpower to change. He was alive and he was single. What else does he need?
Nothing he presumed. His friends thought differently. Jax, Zooble, Gangle and Ragatha had been with Kinger all throughout his divorce. They supported him, stood by him and tried their best to keep his spirits high. During these past few months they had made an effort to invite him out or to have fun game nights at his home. Ragatha and Gangle even brought him home cooked meals when he had been eating instant noodles for a week straight.
Kinger really was grateful for his friends. They always knew what he needed and were there for him when nobody else was. He trusted them with his life and had learnt not to question some of their mad ideas or suggestions for games and outings.
That's probably why he agreed to this one so easily.
It was a cool autumn evening and the five friends were walking through the town. A
destination was clearly set in mind as the group walked and talked through the streets."Are you sure this is a good idea Jax?" Kinger asked
"Of course it is! You my friend, need to let loose. It's been almost half a year and you're still moping around. Trust me, all you need is a little spice in your life. It'll do you good!" The purple bunny said confidently. Kinger wasn't convinced.
"What Jax is trying to say is that we think you deserve something like this. It's just a bit of harmless fun after all!" Ragatha tried to reassure him.
The chess piece looked at her nervously but ultimately decided to trust his friend's word. They had never led his astray before after all.
"Okayyy we're here!" Jax declared.
The group looked at the single story, colourfully lit building before them. Suggestive LED signs hung in the windows in bright pinks, reds and blues. The faint sound of seductive music could be heard from inside the building and above the doors hung a bright white sign that read 'THE AMAZING DIGITAL STRIP CLUB'.
"Why is it called that?" Gangle asked.
"Ugh. I don't know it's just what it's called! So, we going or what?" Jax said, opening the door for the others.
"I'm still not sure this is the best idea..." Kinger said
"Oh come on it's not that bad! Look, we'll go inside, have a few drinks, stay for an hour, then go. Alright?" Zooble said impatiently
"Me and Zoob have been wanting to check out this place for aggeessss!! Please don't chicken out now!" Jax begged.
Ragatha rolled her eyes and pushed past the rabbit, entering the strip club. Jax grinned and trotted after her, quickly followed by Zooble. Kinger and Gangle exchanged a glance before too, following their friends inside.
The strip club was a lot more sensual than Kinger expected. Several brightly coloured lights projected onto the stage in the centre of the room which had four or five silver stripper poles poking out of it. In the corner of the room Kinger could see a bar, with multiple people crowded around it. The rest of the room was dimly lit with some tables and chairs placed sporadically around. Although a few seats were empty, most were full and along the walls there were several booths for seating bigger parties.
"We're over here guys!" Jax waved to Kinger and Gangle from one of the booths near the stage. The two sat with their friends as they all took in this new environment.
