At the break of dawn it was all over the news. The gruesome murder of the man, Semion was supposed to get married to.

Semion watched the news, repeating the words over and over again because how?.

No one.would.dare murder the man. He was powerful, he had the best security. His whole mansion was completely protected. He wasn't one to be murdered easily.

" Looks like destiny is on your side." Alexei walked in.

Semion frowned, " How's that possible?"

" He's one of the most feared men." She sighed.

" Unless you," Alexei trailed off.

Semion rolled her eyes, " I was drunk to the bone last night, can't even remember how I got home in one piece."

" Maybe you killed him around the time, you weren't in your right senses."

Semion frowned, " you can check the footage, I'm still in the same clothes from last night, there's not even a blood stain."

" There's no way I'd even kill him when my dearest father threatened to sell me."

" He was found in a state that resembled that of a bear attack. Completely ruined. Shredded to fucking pieces like his damned soul." Alexei smirked.

" Whoever killed him, did a great job." He applauded.

Semion was used to his excitement about gruesome murders. The old fella was indeed crazy. Deranged even.

" My head hurts so bad," she groaned disappearing into the bathroom.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror, hair all over the place, dried drool, she stunk.

She washed her face and tried to tame her hair. Semion was about to pick up the toothbrush when she halted, her hand in the air.

The memory of last night punched her in the guts. How she insulted him. The rage in his eyes.

She felt her feet turn cold. For the time that she had known her father, he was an animal when he was angry.

She retracted her hand, dropping it by her side and staring back at her reflection. She felt the chills down her spine.

Could it be that he...

" No," she stopped her subconscious mind from completing that statement.

There was no way in heaven and hell that Aslan would kill someone for her. He had never even lifted a finger when it came to her.

She barged out of the bathroom and walked past Alexei.

He just shrugged it off.

Semion rushed upstairs. To his study. The place she always knew he'd always been whilst she was growing up.

She barged into the office like a lost puppy. She narrowed her orbs at the man seated behind his desk.

He lazily lifted his gaze.

" I don't need your rants right now."

He said monotonously.

" Did you kill him?" She asked quietly.

She was hopeful. She needed to know if it was true. If he did then there was chance, a hope that he had the slightest bit of love for her.

Even the tiniest bit.

She felt in her soul that if he denied it then she'd die.

She needed that truth. That one truth.

" None of your business." He waved her off.

" I need to know!" She yelled, exasperated. Aslan clenched his jaw.

" Leave me the hell alone Semion, I have business to attend to," he warned.

" Dad, please." She whispered quietly.

He averted his gaze, " Yes."

A breath of relief escaped her lips.

" It wasn't because of you."

She smiled,. discreetly.

" I understand. Thank you."

She stepped.out of his office and shut the door quietly, before resting on it.

Aslan released a breath he didn't know he was holding.

He recalled everything. After her outburst he left the mansion. The only thing on his mind was murdering him.

He killed ten of his men who happened to be present and deleted every footage before he left the whole place bloodied.

His father was always right. He had a power over him and even if he was dead, he still had that power.

Now that power came in the form of Semion.
