Dominik hung up with a laugh as he turned into a fairly empty lot. He parked in front of a large rectangular window, to the left of the glass door, with a neon open sign and fun party decor. Smiling Dominik cut the engine then took off his belt and got out of the car. Rhea did the same, noting the crestfallen look on his face as she got out. With a roll of her eyes she wrapped her arm around his waist, allowing him to throw his over her shoulder.
He opened the door causing a little bell to chime. The store was large with multiple aisles and a service counter to their immediate left. Behind it stood a rather slender woman with high cheek bones, a defined square jawline, and round chin. Her raven black hair was as straight as corn silk and cascaded past her shoulders. Dark gray almost black eyes lit up when they met his browns.
“AAAAAAAAAAAA!” She screamed with a bright smile as she raced to Dominik.
He pulled away from Rhea to wrap his arms around the woman’s exposed waist. Blue eyes looked her up and down.
She’s beautiful.
The woman was wearing a crop top sleeveless shirt, skin-tight faded blue jeans, and black work boots. Her burnt sienna skin was on full display and had a golden bronze overtone. Upon closer inspection her hair was actually microbraided but still smooth like woven silk. As they held each other tight, teetering from side to side, a rugged lanky man with a scraggly chestnut five o’clock shadow and long messy hair leaned against the counter. He smiled bright, showing off carved silver fangs, alabaster hand rising to wave at Rhea. She waved back just as another woman with her blonde hair in a high neat bun, rounded the aisle followed by a young couple pushing a cart. She cleared her throat causing the two to part with a laugh.
“Hey little guy.” The man greeted as he made his way to Dominik.
He ruffled Dominik’s hair then pulled him into his chest before giving him a tight squeeze. As he clapped Dominik on the back the woman’s bright piercing gray eyes fell on Rhea.
“Hey, beautiful.” She gushed before pulling Rhea into a tight embrace.
“Congratulations. Nikko told me you two got married, sorry I couldn’t go it was dumb busy here.” She chuckled while pulling back and kissing Rhea’s cheeks.
“It’s alright, Astrid I presume."
“Shur nuff.” She chuckled with a beautiful smile.
She stepped away from Rhea only for the lanky man to pull her into a bear hug.
“I’m Garrett.” He whispered in her ear.
Pulling away he smiled and wrapped an arm around Astrid’s shoulders. Dominik waved at the woman at the counter, who smiled at him briefly while ringing up the customers.
“That’s Kate, their wife.” Dominik explained.
Rhea nodded smiling at the woman, she didn’t wave till after the couple was finished and they migrated to the counter.
“Hey Dominik, what brings you to our neck of the woods? Business, pleasure, or chit-chat?” Kate asked arms folding over her chest as she stepped back.
“Business and chit-chat. I’m having a baby shower and I need three custom big foil balloons as well as a backdrop by the fifteenth of this month, super short notice I know but-"
“Let me guess Tigger and Roo in a Sombrero with a Mexican flag shirt?”
His smile widened as he nodded.
