The sound of my phone ringing woke me up out of a complete sleep. It felt like the first good one in days. I'm not sure what time I got home; I remember driving, and I cried a lot. It was even sadder coming home to an empty house, my parents left early yesterday morning, which I knew; but it slipped my mind. I rolled over and grabbed my phone, unlocking it and looking at the screen.

7 missed calls

How the hell did I sleep through seven calls? My ringtone volume is full blast. I sat up more in my bed, pressing the redial button.
"Fleet Flex. This is Carol; what can I do for you today?"
"Hi Carol. It's Kate Stellar, I missed a few calls from this number, just returning them." I say
"Ah yes! Mr Fleet has been trying to reach you, one moment dear I will put you through to his line." She says and then the line falls silent. I begin to panic after the third ring, why would Nathan want to talk to me, especially after last night?
"Fleet Flex. Mr Fleet speaking." His voice comes through loud and clear, and I shiver at the flashbacks, just the thought of his lips on mine, and the way his hand felt against my breast.
"Hello?" Nathan says again threw the phone; snapping me back to reality
"Yes. Hi. It's Kate." I manage to get out, honestly at this point; Nathan makes me a little nervous.
"Ms Stellar. It is almost noon, I need my lunch picked up from the diner; it's already called in. You are late." He says in a stern voice. I'm so confused, I didn't take the job; did I? Is Nathan just assuming I want to work for him? I mean I do! This is a fantastic opportunity, one that I thought for sure I blew last night.
"On my way, Mr Fleet." I say, hanging up the phone and hoping out of bed to get dressed.

I thought that I missed this opportunity, but if there's a chance that I still get this job; or have this job, I'm going. It's going to be awkward but this is a once in a life time, I'm not turning this down! I finished combing my hair and throw it into a messy bun, grab my jacket and head to my truck; once it's warmed up, I head to the diner for Nathan's dinner.

I walk into the diner and I'm met face to face with him. I completely forgot that there was no school today, I didn't realize that he would be working either. Randy stands behind the register; and Bentley is wiping counters.
"An order for Mr Fleet, please!" I say with a smile, not even acknowledging Bentley. He flashes me a look, shakes his head and goes back to wiping counters.
"Here ya are!" Randy says, hanging me out the order.
"Thank you!" I say; after paying and heading towards to door and walking straight to my truck.
I hop in the drivers seat and start drive a little down the street. Fleet Flex isn't that far from the diner.

I walk in an I'm greeted by Carol who is still sitting perfectly at her desk.
"Good Afternoon Ms Stellar." She smiles; yeah I'm definitely going to have to get used to all these proper terms.
I smile back at her, headed towards Nathan's office; every step I take last, flashbacks of last night come back to mind. I start to wonder how Bentley would feel if he found out, but then again-it's not like much of anything actually happened, and it's not his business to know. I know of the office door that reads Nathan's name.

Mr. Nathan Fleet

I wonder if it's always been this fancy and high class?
"Come in." I hear him say and I walk in, I notice Nathan has his earpiece in and is arguing over the phone. It's a polite argue; which is a different scene for me. I guess that would be how you would have to handle a situation in this type of business. I set the food down on the empty corner of his desk, and glance over his calender so I know what I'm supposed to be doing. Nathan finishes up his phone call, walking over to me; and wraps me in a hug. I hug him back, and he lets out a sigh.
"Hard day at the office?" I tease, Nathan is standing there; admiring me, he looks me up and down one last time. I'm wearing my black Lululemon leggings; I probably could've sized up by one, but these show every inch of my curves. I have a blue T-shirt on, the neckline hangs a little low, but I don't have nothing to show; I made sure to wear a bra today too.
"My God. What a lovely sight" Nathan smiles, while pulling me closer to him, and trying to lean for a kiss; I look away. I don't think it's a good idea to mix business and pleasure. He clears his throat and walks back to his desk, gesturing me to sit in front.
