The next day arrives, and Logan wakes up first. He normally was the first one to wake up. He stretches and looks at Z, who is still asleep. He slightly sighs as he gets up and walks down the stairs, heading to the kitchen. He started making waffles and bacon for everyone for when they woke up. He just hoped Z would finally come down for breakfast. After a few minutes, he was finished, and Jeremy and Henry walked down the stairs, yawning and stretching.
"Made some waffles and bacon for you guys and decided to make some eggs to add on. Especially so you can get something big to eat before your swing shift, Jeremy." Logan says. He was definitely the bigger father figure out of everyone. He then asks, "Where's Gordon and Nick?"
"Still out like a light. I tried waking them up. I think Gordon was up late again." Henry replied. Him and Gordon have to share rooms due to the house not being big enough for everyone to have their own rooms.
"Of course.. talking to that girl, Melanie, again, I'm assuming? She's nothing but a bad influence.." He says, sighing.
Jeremy then says, "I'll go get him. I'll try to get Z on my way there and back." He then walks up the stairs.
Henry was silent for a moment, then said, "Why do you think she's a bad influence? Do you know her?"
"Well.. remember when she came over that one week?" He asks Henry, to which he nodded, then Logan continues, "When Gordan went to the restroom, she pulled her phone out and I couldn't help but saw the odd and awful stuff she was saying to, who I assume was a friend, about him, and how she thinks he'll be easy, meaning like.. she just wants to fuck him and leave."
Henry was stunned to hear this. "God.. that's not good. We gotta do something before she does that."
"She does want to come over tomorrow. We should scare her away just like we did with David and Jackson. Seeing them at work makes my blood boil.." Logan says, mumbling the last part.
"Hey, that's in the past. They're leaving Z alone at school, and that's all that matters." Henry says, hoping to calm Logan down.
Even if Logan seems like the father figure, he still has trouble with his anger issues. His intentions are never bad. He just wants to keep his family safe from getting hurt. He's honestly a little surprised that he hasn't lost his job yet. Although he doesn't have anger outbursts at work. He's actually the most chill guy you'd ever met while on the clock. It's like he's a completely different person.
"I guess you're right.. they won't stop bugging this newer co-worker, though." Logan says, drinking his cup of orange juice.
Just then, Jeremy comes back down the stairs with Nick and Gordan. They both looked exhausted, mainly Gordan.
"Gordan Hamilton Williams. What have I told you about facetiming Melanie late at night?" Logan says sternly as he crosses his arms.
Gordan rolls his eyes, and he doesn't say anything as he goes to grab food, but Logan stops him.
"Gordan, I just don't want you to get hurt. I really hate to tell you what she's been saying to her friends." He spoke, now sounding concerned.
"Like I give a fuck? I love her, and she loves me. She's coming over today, by the way." Gordan says blankly as he opens the fridge and grabs a monster, then gets some food and sits at the table.
The other boys were stunned and a little angry. He's practically inviting a girl over a day sooner than planned without their permission. Another thing is that Melanie absolutely hates Z, and depending on how she feels, she'll either verbally or even physically hurt Z.
"No. She is not coming today. We planned she would come over tomorrow." Jeremy says, emphasizing the word tomorrow.
"Whatever.." Gordon says as he messages Melanie that she can't come over, but not just today, but at all because to him, Jeremy said she can't come over anymore.
He basically lied, so she'd get pissed off at Jeremy. She was already getting into his head. They've been together for a month, so 2 weeks after the incident. Jeremy wasn't aware of this. Neither were the other boys.
After a few minutes of silence, they perked their heads up at the stairs because they heard small footsteps, and then they saw Z walking into the kitchen. She was still wearing her pj's and holding her favorite stuffed lion, but the boys didn't care how she looked. They were excited that she came out of her room to eat breakfast.
"Hey, sugar! I'm glad to see you come down for breakfast, Logan made your favorite." Jeremy smiles, playfully patting her head.
She smiles softly as she walks over to Logan, who is already getting her plate of food. He then hands her the plate, and she takes it. She decides to sit down by Gordan, hoping he was happy to see her.
"Hey Gordon, did you sleep ok?" She asks politely.
He just glances at her, then back at his phone. Half of him felt bad, but half of him didn't. There was still time to help him away from Melanie. When he didn't say anything, Z couldn't help but have small tears in her eyes. She thought she did something wrong to anger him.
"Did.. did I do something wrong?" She asks him quietly.
The other boys watched, wanting to see if Z could get through to him, unlike them. It was like Z had a superpower of getting people to open up to her, and she does it for good, never with bad intentions like Logan's anger issues. Gordan eventually sighs and looks at her.
"No.. no, you didn't. I slept alright.. I guess." He says a bit blankly, but some emotion laced in his voice.
"Were you talking to Mel again?" She asks.
Gordon was quiet for a bit, and then he nodded. "I'm sorry.. I love her a lot. I really do."
"But.. I overheard Logan saying that Mel is just using you because she thinks your easy.. whatever that means, I just know it doesn't sound good.." She spoke honestly.
Gordon's eyes widen as he looks at Logan with a "Please tell me she's lying" look. Logan knew that look, and he shook his head no.
"Z never lies, Gordon. I saw the messages over Melanie's shoulder when I was picking up laundry behind her. You gotta drop her before she hurts you." Logan spoke softly, feeling bad.
Gordon was only 17 years old. A junior. He was too much of a sweet kid to understand that girls may go after him just for attention, just to break his heart and leave him. Gordon sat there in shock and in pain that he was being used. He wished he listened, but he was too blinded by love. Everyone felt bad for him, but they were also relieved that Z made him realize a huge mistake he almost got himself into. He dodged a nuclear bomb.
"I-I'm so sorry. I really thought she loved me.." Gordon says, shocked and hurt.
"We know.. but that's what happens when love blinds you.. I know how it feels.." Jeremy says.
"We're here for you bubs, just promise us you'll break up with her when she comes over tomorrow.." Z says, putting her hand on his on the table.
"I will.. I'm not easy.. am I?" Gordon asks.
"With how sweet and chill you are, some girls will think that, but this will help you toughen up a bit and never let this happen again. You can't trust everyone." Logan says, finishing his cup of orange juice.
Gordon nods, sighing. Then, Jeremy looks at the time.
"Well, I gotta head to work. I'll see you guys later. Be good for Logan, I'll be back shortly after Logan leaves. I love you guys." Jeremy says, then grabs his car keys and leaves. Yes, he ate already. 2 plates while everyone was talking.
Logan was always impressed on how Z works things out. He wonders how she does it sometimes because she practically saw straight through Gordon. He still wants to absolutely destroy David and Jackson for what they did to Z earlier in the year.
