It was winter, a snow storm outside blowing tiny snowflakes against her window. Marinette was wrapped in her favorite blanket and was bundled up in a hoodie and sweatpants trying to layer up as much as she possibly can without sweating buckets. The power to the bakery went out ethier that day due to the storm. The only lights she had were tiny candles she had from the kitchen that she had gotten earlier that day. Marinette was laying down on her chaise reading a romance book with a flashlight she had laying around on her desk. Just about things were getting spicy (wink wink) she heard light shuffling coming from outside seemingly from above her.
Worry piled in her gut, her mind immediately went the the thought of a akuma. Her heart racing he tried to calm herself down so she wouldn't be the target of a new akuma. 'It was just the wind blowing against the window, it's fine, your fine, there is not going to be a akuma,' she thought. The wind was already blowing against her window calming down the thoughts of a possibility of a akuma that was screaming at her.
Going back to reading her book she heard that shuffling again but this time it was faster almost disparate she thought nothing of it, 'it is probably the just the wind blowing the snow' shaking her head to clear her thoughts she went back to reading the page she was on. That was until she noticed a hand pressed against the glass of the window swiping some of the snow away making himself visible.
His neon green eyes poked through the pile of snow that was now on her window sail. Marinette slowly got up and walked over to the window (letting curiosity get the best of her) she reluctantly opened the hatch on the window letting her feline partner and some of the snow from the growing pile that was now sitting in front of her window in. Chat Noir was shivering and has snow falling out of his hair and off his suit, his teeth were chattering due to the coldness of the snow. He had what looked like a puffy black zip up jacket over his torso and a pair of green earmuffs over his ears. His skin was pale and felt cold to the touch, not even a ounce of warmth under his jacket.
Concern piled in Marinette's gut as she as looked him up and down. However, she couldn't help but feel guilty that he is like this. earlier that day they had met up to talk about patrol that day due to the storm. Marinette insisted on her going but Chat Noir wouldn't let her and he insisted on going instead. She was planning on going anyway but Chat sent her back home when he saw her a few hours later saying "as a gentleman, I would not allow you to go out in the cold all alone when I am completely capable of doing it for you." The gesture was sweet but she now she hoped that she had gone anyway. Seeing him like this triggered something in her, sadness, guilt, anger, regret, and nervousness hoping he was ok.
Walking back over to her chaise she grabbed one of the extra chunky blankets from the stack and a towel. Giving both the towel and blanket to Chat he rubbed the towel through his hair, in attempts so get all the extra snow out without soaking the floor further with the melting snow. Letting the fall blanket over his shoulders and onto his chest and arms, feeling the warmth from the blanket slowly going through his winter jacket. Marinette sat down on the chaise and patted the empty space next to her for Chat to sit down. Moving the now closed book from next her to below the chaise. Chat nodded and gladly took the seat next to her, taking in the comfort of his very good friends presents.
The light from the candles that were scattered throughout her room added a little bit of heat and made her room a cozy like environment. The snow slowly melting on the chaise from his suit leaving a water spot on her fabric around him. Neither of them said a word, the comfortable silence and their thoughts was enough. Marinette looked at the boy sitting next to her her heart hurt seeing him like this. (To her he wasn't mature enough be a man) Taking off his earmuffs and putting them on his leg he grabbed the blanket and moved it to on top of his head to cover his ears. The earmuff dripping ice cold water from the melted ice onto his leg.
