A/N: Hello, everyone! I am still alive, and still hoping to finish this fic one day. But, here's the deal – yes, this fic is still a work in progress. I decided to start posting it anyway. I have about four chapters, plus the prologue done already, but writing any more has been a struggle for a variety of reasons. I'm a major perfectionist, which is why I didn't post the first few books until I was completely done with editing them, but I'm trying to get over that right now. My hope is that, if I'm publishing these chapters as I finish them, it might encourage me to work on the story more. Idk, we'll see.

But that'll mean that these chapters come slowly, and it'll mean that they're all messy. It's not going to be as put-together as my previous stories until I'm done, but I mean, who really cares, right? Y'all want a story, I want to write, and fanfiction was never meant to be clean. So here you go, my friends. I hope you enjoy, and I hope we can still see this series through to the end, together. :)

(Sidenote: To reiterate, Lloyd isn't going to be aged up in this fic bc Wu has a few different ideas than Garmadon. We'll see what new shenanigans he has in store...)

. . .

Night had fallen, but the light of the moon couldn't compare to the light that shone from within the mountain. It was almost as bright as day on its peaks, and Wu relished in the golden glow. This was the moment he had been waiting for nearly all his life. He turned to his students.

"The time has come." He held out his hand. Obediently, the Masters of Earth, Lightning, and Fire handed their elemental weapons to him. They had done well to retrieve and guard them for him, but after training in the Dark Realm, he now had the power to wield them all at once. The ninjas' job was done, but there would be use for them yet.

Wu reached into his own belt and pulled out the Shurikens of Ice. At the very least, three of his four students had not failed.

Holding the weapons in each of his four hands, Wu returned his attention to the gaping mouth of the mountain. He walked out onto the narrow path that jutted over the molten pool of gold below. Sparks floated up on the breeze. He could feel its heat, cooler than that of a volcano, but still hot enough that steam lay wafted from the bubbling surface.

When Wu reached the edge of the path, he raised the Weapons of Spinjitzu over his head. A sphere of golden energy rose from the pool below and sucked the weapons out of his grasp.

"It's working," Wu said with immense satisfaction. He watched as the weapons fused together, the sphere of energy growing brighter and brighter until an explosion of light forced him to avert his gaze.

When he looked again, there was just one weapon hovering before him, a golden staff that fizzled with elemental energy. It descended toward him. Wu reached out and let his fingers curl around its shaft.

Instantly, energy surged into his arm and through his whole body. Wu gasped and cried out as an immense amount of power threatened to tear him apart, but he clung stubbornly to the staff.

"Master Wu!" came the concerned cries of his students behind him.

Wu was brought to his knees by the strength of the weapon, but he grit his teeth and allowed it to pass through him until he was left panting. Then another surge of strength washed over him, as if the weapon itself had accepted him.

"It's alright," he said, getting to his feet. "I am fine. In fact . . . I feel more powerful than ever before!" He raised the staff, still a flurry of chaotic elemental potential. He smiled to himself. Now to destroy my brother and his ninja . . . once and for all!
