I slowly walk into the corridors, feeling my way throw the darkness. I only took a couple steps when suddenly the ghost projected a light from what is seems to be eye.
"This might help a little. Be on the lookout for any fallen, they thrive in the darkness."
I nod my head to show I understood him. I start walking again, the ghost's light seeming to be paving s road for me through the darkness. I look around and out of the corner of my eye I see two faintly lit eyes. I look toward them and they disappear, not a noise to be made.
"Did you see that?" I whispered to the ghost.
"Fallen! We need to get moving."
I start to jog, trying to take light footsteps in order to be silent. I was doing a fairly good job of being silent until I stepped into a puddle. I hear a noise.. And its not the puddle.
"Damn it, I gotta get the hell out of here!"
I break into a sprint and all hell breaks loose, I rushed by seeing looming shadows of the fallen that had tried to ambush me, but I couldn't stay and fight, I couldn't see anything, and for all I knew there could be hundreds of them in here!
I can't find any sort of exit, no doors, no light from the outside, nothing! I look around everywhere and then out of nowhere I hear something. Something big, very big. I run as fast as I can, I turn a corner and I see what hopefully was a way out. Light. But when I started to get near the light, my worst fear emerged from the darkness.
I took a few steps back, looking at what loomed over me. A creature standing at least 7 1/2 feet tall was now looming over me. I look at it and something popped up above it. The words "Devil Captain". I only took a second to look at it, but before I looked away, a red bar was below the words I saw, just floating above him.
"You might want to start shooting that thing!!" I heard the ghost say.
I take my gun in my hands and take a glance behind me, I see many smaller figures standing there with knives. There are words above them too! "Dreg" That's not good. I quickly turn around and start shooting the Devil Captain with my rifle and I notice the red bar above its head is depleting as I shoot it, but my I was stupid enough to keep looking at the bar going down to not notice the Devil Captain running toward me, and before I knew it, I had been hit straight in the face with a tremendous force caused by the captain.
I fly across the room only to be met be several Dregs rushing toward me, I shot one of them and they dropped to the floor, dead. I realized quickly they would not be much of a threat, so I killed the rest of the Dregs and focused on the captain. I noticed I have a bar near the top of my view, flashing red. I didn't pay much attention to it because I was in too much pain until suddenly I felt better. Then I noticed the bar had filled back up! That must be how damaged I am before I die!... Pretty grim.
I vault over a pipe running away from the devil captain, turning around and shooting it every few seconds. It's putting up a hell of a fight. It's able to crash through pipes and walls, nothing I could EVER do! I turn a corner and crouch down, I'm lucky enough the Captain kept walking once he got past the corner, I though about running away to the exit, but I decide to make a risky move.
I ran up to the Captain and just before it heard me running and turn to face me, I jumped on its back, put my gun in the back of its head and shot almost a full clip into it before it finally dropped to the ground and died.
I run back the path I treaded to get away from the Captain and I saw the light. I ran to the light as fast as I could, blinded by it I kept running not being able to see what was beyond it. But I kept running, covering my eyes to shield my eyes from the light, and I felt the terrain beneath my feet change from solid concrete to dirt.
I lower my arms away from my eyes and I see large structures made during the golden age, crashed ships, and a whole valley that looks like it has been burnt to a crisp. All life drained from. My thoughts were cut off when the ghost said something.
"There must be a ship around here we can use to get off this planet." The ghost said.
"Just what I was thinking." I reply
"Wait, over there, the boarding station! Do you see it?"
"Bingo." I take one last look into the the corridors I came out of, and see shadows moving.... Must be my imagination. I look back at the boarding station and head off.
