overview: all the biology classes of senior year go on a school trip to hawaii every year for 6 weeks. they went for a school project, to find differences between boston and hawaii, for example diffrence of leaves, grass, dirt, clothing, ect. the teacher mr. m decided he would be his annoying self and make the partners. fae and matt got paired. they knew eachother but didnt really talk, they just had classes from previous years. during 7th grade matt made a nickname for faelyn during their class presentation, fayn. she didnt mind, she liked the nickname, it just kinda always stuck. her nickname for matthew was b for his middle name. since she started calling him berny and he didnt like that she changed it to b, she thought it was better and so did he. the hotel has rooms with two beds, although for some strange reason (we all know it was destined to happen to them) their room had one bed. how lovely.
the two walk into the room after a long flight, they stand there in shock confused on why theres only one bed.
"i can take the floor so your back doesnt hurt." fae says as matt looks at her in a 'seriously?' look. "fayn dont think your getting the floor, i can handle the floor dont worry about it." matt says with a smile. fae smiles back, "are you sure? i mean ok but ill make sure to ask for extra pillows and blankets, we can switch off the floor everyday." she states with a small grin on her face. "stop offering the floor to yourself im taking the floor fayn." matt says in a serious tone. fayn just rolls her eyes and opens her suitcase and changes in the bathroom.
as matt calls the room service for extra pillows and blankets, fae dresses in her yellow bikini. matt and her decided to go to the pool outside so they can talk and get to know each other more before they start the project. after fae gets out of the bathroom matt does the same thing getting in his light blue swim trunks on, while he changes she throws on the first over sized shirt she could find in her suitcase.
"fayn can u pass me my shirt please, its the white one with 'ransom' on the front." matt asks the girl, she gets it frim his suit case and passes it to him, he puts it on as he walks out of the door. they put on shoes and walk out and take a path to the pool.
the pool area is empty because the school rents out the hotel for only the school. everyone else is either at the beach, working on the project, eating somewhere, or in their rooms unpacking.
