The Reunion

Chapter 2

“Oh my~ he got blood on my clean floors?” Astro smiled

“What were you saying about ugly things again little prince?" he asked

“were you perhaps referring to that?" Astro points in the direction of the Impaled Mark.

“You...”

*cough*

“Brother *coughs* don’t... worry about me, ...just find the arti...” Mark was cut off by Zompire.

“Shut up! You fool… even in that situation you want to say useless things” Zompire said face down as he bites his lips trying to keep his composure.

*claps*

“Aww~”

Astro walks towards Zompire clapping.

“Don't worry, if you fall back now, worst case is~ he goes into a coma” he said with an evil smirk on his face.

Astro nods at some guards as if signalling them to do something.

Two guards jumped in the direction of Zompire with swords in their hands but as they were about to land a hit, the two brothers vanished.

Astro and his guards were confused and searched the entire vicinity quietly as to not attract any attention.

The search stopped after the party was over and there was no sign of Zompire or his brother anywhere.

Astro then went back into the palace and pressed a button which was the right eye of a metallic lion head on his staff.

Turns out it's connected to a mechanism that made his throne moved to the right revealing a stairway that led underground.

Astro and two guards went down the stairs while two others waited outside guarding the throne as it moves to its former position.

The underground route was like a maze and at the center of the maze was a transparent cube which had a Golden tusk levitating in it.

*chuckles*

“Didn’t I tell ya!?” Astro laughed as he walked to the cube.

“I knew this tusk was a special item!” he adds as he turned to his guards.

“under normal circumstances, those brothers would’ve burnt this place to the ground until they found this thing but they couldn’t because of this!” he gestured pointing to the cube which was empty.

“Um your Highness?”

“What?” Astro growled.

“The cube’s empty” the guard replied pointing to the cube.

As Astro turned around, the next thing he felt was a punch to the face which sent him flying to the other end of the cave.

“That must've hurt” a familiar voice said.

“Did you actually think I’d leave without this even if my brother was hurt?” Zompire appeared holding the artifact in his hands.

“~ah sh*t! You broke my nose”

Astro tried getting up but his body was in a paralyzed state.

“what're you idiots doing!?” Astro yelled.

“Retrieve the ar...!”

“it's hopeless” Zompire cuts him off.

“I petrified them right after I punched you” he adds.

*Chuckles*

“You may think You've won but that injury on your brother earlier wasn’t just to injure him" Astro said.

“My guard's armors are coated with a lethal nano poison specially made to counter Undeads like you!.” he chuckled.

Zompire's eyes widened in anger with an dark expression on his face as he lets out a murderous aura.

“Those spies your father sent were really helpful test subjects tho" Astro laughed as he positions himself to sit with his back against the wall.

“The poison should've damaged all his muscles by now and don’t even think of asking me for an antidote because I don’t have any~”.

Zompire's anger could be seen on his face as his red eyes glowed in the slight darkness of the cave.

“You son of a...”

Zompire blew off Astro's right arm and disappeared leaving Astro in agony.

                                                                      

That was unexpected.

That Astro bastard sure is lucky.
