Her

"Do it already!"

I heard, I shook my head, tears flowing down my face.

"You can't leave her alive."

I'd hear, the same voice in my head repeated. I wanted to slap myself for even thinking that.

I looked at the withering body beneath me, it was unfamiliar, yet I knew exactly who it was. Her eyes looked into mine with hunger, but I saw past the ravenous expression and saw her.

Her now red eyes stared into mine, I wanted to believe she was still there, maybe I was right, maybe even just a spark of her was left.

Her arms would reach out to me, falling just short, claws scraping against the floor beneath us.

She was under a pile of furniture, furniture we had used together, shared together.

I had a gun in my hand, its barrel pointed towards her face.

I had my hand on the trigger, but I couldn't bring myself to pull it. I wanted to ask her, how did this happen? Why?

But I knew I couldn't.

Maybe this is all a nightmare, a dream, a fantasy.

I closed my eyes.

I opened my eyes again and found myself in what seemed to be a dream.

I was in a black void, but I was not alone.

I saw her.

"Hi."

My eyes widened, it was her voice. Hers.

"Ayano?"

"Please."

Her voice cried out, I couldn't help but shake my head, I knew this wasn't real.

"..."

"Please."

Her voice pleaded yet again, I closed my eyes tightly, I couldn't let whatever this thing was manipulate me.

"Let me go."

"..."

She didn't reply, or rather, it didn't reply.

"I know this isn't real, you're trying to convince me she's still alive in you, huh?"
