It was Monday now and I had fully settled into my dorm with the helping hand of my roommate Daphne Greengrass and Elliot.

It was like I had never left. The three of us sitting in the great hall eating breakfast as the two filled me on the newest gossip and dating rumors. It almost felt like things were back to normal, but I just couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. I thought I was getting another headache, since I keep getting those quite frequently these days, but this was definitely caused by someone's burning stare.

Sure enough when I lifted my gaze up from my toast, there was a boy no older than sixteen staring at me intently. Harry Potter was scrutinizing my every move, all the way from the Gryffindor table. At first I was confused as to why he was interested but then I recalled something. He seemed to notice I had caught him staring since his eyes doubled in size and I tried to smile at him. I have to be nice, that's what Remus told me to do. I thought to myself as I watched the boy and his two friends standing up and heading out of the great hall.

Me and Daphne were running ten minutes late to class. It was a shared lecture with Gryffindor and I could have easily slipped back to our dorm but Daphne insisted I come with her to see the new teacher. Of course I knew that she just wanted to see Lee Jordan, seeing as she had a huge crush on him but I didn't bother to tease her about it.

It seemed that we weren't the only ones late because when we stepped into the doorway of the class, I could hear two pairs of feet sauntering and one of them stopping right behind me.

I didn't have time to turn around and see who it was before someone cleared their throat, making themselves seen.

The new DADA teacher was a man I knew all too well. There was no mistaking his metallic fake leg and the wildly moving prosthetic eye. Mad eye Moody, was someone who I had grown used to in the last week during my temporary stay at 12 Grimmauld place.

"Took you lot long enough!" He roared as me and Daphne tried to slip in to the classroom, hoping whoever came behind us would cause enough havoc for us to go unnoticed.
Unfortunately I was out of luck that day.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted," he glanced at us making me freeze in my spot, "-dueling is a large subject itself, and it takes a skilled witch or wizard to fully master it. Now if you all would pay attention to the lecture," Mad eye raised his voice at some giggling girls at the back of classroom who flinched at his tone," ms. Snowden and mr. Weasley would like to show you all the use of basic spellwork in a combat duel. This means that you are allowed to use jinxes and mild hexes, and both students will have to be able to walk out of the classroom by themselves because I will not be fetching anyone from the hospital wing tomorrow."

Fuck no. I don't care which Weasley mad eye was referring to but there was absolutely no way I would waste my well crafted magic on any of them. I looked at Daphne whose eyes were set on something behind me, my guess was Lee Jordan so she wasn't helping at all as I was nearly frozen in my spot.

I opened my mouth to protest but before I could, the smooth voice of Fred Weasley stopped my train of thought as he came close to my ear. "Don't tell me you've became a coward Snowden." I hated that I was so easily aggravated and I felt the annoyance pricking in my brain. I turned my head to the side to see his face and I hated how close he was.

I looked at him challengingly before answering, "I've been wanting to kick your ass all week Weasley." He smiled smugly and I made my way  towards the dueling area where chairs had been pulled away, clearing a hefty amount of flooring and space.

Students had started to gather around the walls in hopes of better view, and as I had settled on my side of the arena I fixed my posture and tried to seem unaffected by my selected opponent. I held my wand firmly pointed in the air and waited for Moody's signal as Weasley did the same. He was still showing off his playful smirk and I just scoffed. You won't be smiling for long.
