FRIGG EVANS smiled as she walked down the hallway of her school. She didn't know why exactly but she was in a good mood today and no Aiden Jackson was going to be able to ruin it for her. It was Friday, meaning she was going to swim and the idea of swimming always made her happy.
She walked in her Literature class and sat next to Bellary, as always. She frowned when she saw Roy talking to the boy her friends told her about. As they said, he was tall and dark skinned.
She smiled when she saw Roy scratch the back of his neck and slightly blush. "Our lover boy's smitten," she grinned.
Bellary snorted. "Yup. He's been trying to talk to him for the last ten minutes. For now, I think he only said one sentence that actually meant something and it was 'Hi.'"
"At least he's talking."
"He's so cute," Annie squealed. "And soon they'll be dating."
"Wait," Frigg exclaimed, then leaned in to whisper. "Are we sure the target's into boys?"
"Just look at him," Bellary sneered. "He's totally into Roy, to say the least."
"You're not wrong."
The teacher walked in and he looked at them. "How is it that every time I'm late you kids still seem to be as not ready as you usually are?" He sighed. "I really chose the wrong job."
Frigg loved Mr. Blare for a very good reason: he was funny. Even though his white hair was almost non-existent and he had that grandpa teddy bear look, he still managed to have the students respect him. And in her school, it wasn't easy to earn that.
When every one was actually sitting on their seats ready to listen, Mr. Blare started his class. "We're going to analyse a book. But it must be related to the theme of the books we've been working on those last class; love in literature. So come on kids, form small groups. Four person in each. And no dramatic blah-blah just team up with someone without making a whole story out of it. I'm not asking you to marry each other."
Frigg turned to Annie and Bellary and both of them nodded. She then looked at Roy with hope and realised he'd managed to ask his crush to work with him. That meant they were five. And she couldn't let them work with strangers. Poor boy needed all the help he could get. "Team up with them. I'll find someone else," she told the girls.
"Are you sure?" Annie asked.
"Yeah. Bellary would scare her team away and you're the love expert."
She looked around her to see who was with who. Damn it. Azalea was already teaming up with the twins and no doubt Jai was the last team member even though he weirdly wasn't there yet. Next one: Chloe. Not surprisingly, she was with Reece. And of course, Reece was with Aiden.
She sighed. Whatever. She walked to them and turned to Chloe, knowing there was no way she'd say no. "Hi Chloe? I was wondering if I could team up with you?"
Chloe smiled brightly. "Of course!"
Mission accomplished with success. Frigg smiled back and sat next to the girl. She frowned, looking at her T-Shirt. Today, it was a white one with a donut on it and it said in pink letters 'Donut worry, be happy!' Of course, her pink skirt and purple boots matched it.
"So, did you already decide which book you were working on?" Frigg asked.
"No," Aiden answered, his eyes still frozen on his notebook. She was surprised he didn't protest her invasion.
"Romeo and Juliet?" Chloe asked.
"Isn't every one going to go with that one?" Frigg pointed out. "It's like the classic love story, even though I personally think Shakespeare was mocking romance more than anything but that's besides the point."
