DRAGONS, WOLVES AND THE SEA
CHAPTER NINE
14th of the 1st moon of 116AC

◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈

A week of hurried preparations to the feasts and tournaments to come passed by rather quickly. Maegor spent most of his time with his betrothed and the times they weren't together were the times where he had to be with the City Watch.

The first day of celebration came, and at sundown, Maegor was helped to get dressed in a red tunic with black details all over, not forgetting the dragon decorative pins, a brown belt with golden pieces, maroon pants and high boots.
After getting ready, he was escorted by Ser Rickard to the Throne Room where the first feast would take place.

The Throne Room was decorated beautifully and it had three tables, one for the families of the betrothed, and two for the noble members of the Realm.

Maegor walked towards the King and the Princess who are already sat at the table. Rhaenyra to her father's left. Maegor goes around the table and leaves a sit open for the Queen, sitting on the next chair available to his uncle's right.

"It is with great pleasure that His Grace, King Viserys, announces the start of the two royal wedding celebrations."
Some noble houses start to arrive and the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Harrold Westerling, announces their arrival.
"House Lannister with their Lord, Jason Lannister. Lord Paramount of the West, and Master of Casterly Rock."

"House Hightower with their Lord, Hobert Hightower. Beacon of the South, Defender of the Citadel, the Voice of Oldtown..." Ser Harrold keeps on announcing.

Lord Jason Lannister approaches our table to greet us.
"Congratulations, Your Grace. You have made fine matches for the Prince and Princess." he says.
"Thank you, Lord Jason. I could think of no better man than Ser Laenor." Rhaenyra says.
"Yes. I could think of none other than the Lady Lyanna to take as wife." Maegor says, forcing a smile.

"Well, if this is only the welcome feast, I admit, I cannot imagine what you might have planned for the weddings." Lord Jason says.
"My daughter is the future Queen. I wanted this to be a wedding for the histories." Viserys says.
"Where is the Queen? I had hoped to pay my respects." Jason says.
"I understand the Queen is still readying herself for the celebrations." Viserys says.
"This is why men wage war, because the women would never be ready for battle in time." Lord Jason jests, smiling proudly of his joke. Viserys, Rhaenyra and Maegor force a smile not to dishonor the Lord.

After this comment, Maegor found himself thinking of Queen Visenya the Conqueror, how she waged war and was as great a warrior as Aegon himself. What would the Conquerors have to say about their House's current situation?
Maegor brushes away these thoughts.
