Lacia
Chapter 1- Home againI ran through the door as soon as it opened and slammed it shut behind me. I didn't care who heard, I was the only one at Ever After High who knew how important a simple drawing of a door could be.
I had packed to leave for Wonderland and was completely prepared to go and face Jafar to save Wonderland's people from doom by beating him up with my magic, but I realised that, despite how many abilities my dark magic gave me, there was the slight issue that was the fact that I couldn't control said dark magic. Just a teeny hiccup in my grand plan, but nothing a trinket from the Neitherworld couldn't fix.
There were stories when I was small, of a gauntlet in the Neitherworld that could help a demon control and grow their powers. No I may not be fully demon but I'm not that far off so I figured I'd just nip there quickly and steal it from Miss Argentina's private office before heading off to Wonderland to proceed with my grand plan to kick Jafar's butt.
I ran through the Neitherworld, trying to get to Miss Argentina's private office before anyone noticed me and told someone important. I don't need Juno on my back, I'm already gonna need to deal with Jafar.
I don't need both the J's coming for me. That would be the worst thing to ever happen to me. And when I first Morningstar, she thought I was a treat and tried to eat me. It took me a week to get the dragon slobbers out my hair.
I managed to make it to the office without meeting a soul. Literally.
I bent down to the lock, pulling out a hair pin that Goldie had told me to always keep on me. 'Just in cases!' She had said so happily. I almost feel bad that I left without telling anyone, they'd all be worried. Almost, but I wasn't quite there yet. After all I'd left to save them from Jafar trying to do anything to them to try and get me.
But there are a few goodbyes I would have liked to make. Raven, Apple, Maddie, Morningstar, Briar, maybe Alistair. But they would have to deal with it after I defeat Jafar.
I grinned as the lock clicked.
I hurried inside and closed the door silently, so that no one would hear me. Taking a glance around the room I realised this may be harder than I thought.
There were many cupboards, drawers and filing cabinets lining the room, and most of them had padlocks. I let out a sigh. So much for quick in, quick out.
Trying to keep my magic from creating something too ridiculous, I summoned green mist to my fingertips, still feeling a little bit of pride when it started to take shape into what I wanted. A giant big pair of pliers solidifies into my hands.
I started breaking all the padlocks, snapping them all off as quickly as I could. I worked around the room, starting with the cupboards, then the drawers and finally the filing cabinets, those padlocks were a little bigger so they were harder to snap, but I got there in the end.
Checking the cupboards was one of the worst things I've ever done in my life because some of them had stuff like books that were centuries old and covered with dust mites, food that was rotting, or something along the lines of the giant elephant ear that was in one of them.
To say I was not impressed was an understatement.
I made my way to the filing cabinet and began searching. The first drawer only held paper that was half written on, the second just held stationary, the third held something that looked like a giant blob of yellowy slime. The fourth however held lots of files, that all seemed to be on different demons. I caught a glimpse of one that intrigued me. It was my one.
Just as I began to pull it out of the drawer, there was a clunk from the very bottom of it. Something had been nudged when I moved my file. I reached into the back of the drawer, my hand fishing about until my fingers grazed something cold. Something cold and metal. I quickly grabbed it and pulled it out from the drawer, squinting through the dodgy office light to see it.
It had hinges on one side and on the other there was a sort of clamp where it snapped shut. It was silver, and appeared to be a very strong metal. The stories of this gauntlet dates back centuries and there wasn't a single scrape on it. Titanium? It must have been. Otherwise it would have been impossible to be that strong.
I smirked to myself before shutting the drawer, and going back up to the stationary drawer where there was a piece of chalk there. I stood up and brushed myself off, there was so much dust here it was almost worrying. There was one patch of space with nothing covering it in the office, but it was the floor. So I guess it'll be a bit more of a fall than a walk.
I quickly drew a door on the floor and made sure to include a door handle. Knocking thrice, I grabbed the door handle and pulled the door open. Then I jumped down through the doorframe, pulling the door shut as I fell.
I landed in the middle of the enchanted forest, much to my surprise. I was back in Ever After.
Luckily though, that meant the Well of Wonder was nearby. So if I just fall through that, then I'll end up in Wonderland, right? Well that's my plan so I'd better hope so. I started my walk through the forest, taking the time to properly examine my new gauntlet in the light. It had Latin on it, which I think roughly translated to 'Eternity'.
Now I'm not an expert on the dictionary, but that means forever. My brain's a little fuzzy right now from the Neitherworld and I have got the feeling inside me that that's gonna come back for me.
I snapped the Gauntlet onto my left wrist and kept on walking. I thought that there must be something nearby at some point, and just then, a little White Rabbit came bouncing past. It was shouting "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" Remembering Raven's stories of her adventure in Wonderland, I realised that this must have been the White Rabbit from there!
I quietly followed it as it hopped along through the forest. At one point, when I'd been following it for ten minutes (If this thing did not stop saying that it was late, I swear it would be meeting the grave early) it went behind a tree. I waited for a minute or two, in case it wanted privacy but it didn't come back out.
Now that I thought about it, I couldn't even hear anything to indicate that the rabbit was still there. "Hello? Rabbit? Are you there?" I called out, really hoping that either it was still there, or that there was nothing listening to me talking to something that wasn't there.
There was no reply, which was extraordinarily rude! It could talk because I heard it so it was either ignoring me, or it wasn't there anymore. I quickly walked round to the other side of the tree, where there was a small rabbit hole. So it had left me all alone. How horrible of it. I crouched down next to it, trying to see if I could see it.
There was nothing except blackness, but at the end there was- a light?
There was a very small, minuscule light ages away. I leant closer to try to see what it was, but then the ground under me cracked, making the rabbit hole larger. I tried to stand up so I could get away but the shift of my weight caused the ground under me to break away completely, causing me to fall into the rabbit hole!
Merry Christmas guys, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
