When everyone left my room, I took the application in my hand. I thought about my decision, but was still woozy from just waking up to a full house of my noisy family.
"Ayla!", Effie and Remi yelled in unison from downstairs.
"Girls, she's getting ready. Give her some time", Mum scowled. I smiled at myself and got up from my faded baby blue sheet, as the wooden bed frame croaked and creaked. I opened my closet and looked over my wardrobe. I pulled out my favorite burgundy v-neck, my army green windbreaker, and some brownish tan slacks out of my closet and changed. Now, onto my hair. I sat in front of my vanity and looked in the mirror. I caressed my shoulder-length, auburn orange hair and put it in a half up-half down style, pinning it back with a small navy blue bow.
I seldom wore makeup because it covered my freckles, and I liked them. But I always stole Mum's mascara and eyeliner, but she didn't mind. I applied it carefully and nearly poked my own eye out when Effie slammed the door open, screaming bloody murder,
"Kasen's here!"
Kasen and I are dating, and everyone knows. We grew up together and always were affectionate for each other.
"Really?", I grinned. Effie shrugged and yelled, looking down the stairs,
"There Ayla goes with her British accent again!"
I speak with a British accent, no one else in my family does, but I just can't help it. Mum told me I get it from Grandmother, but Effie thinks it makes you 'cuter' so she gets quite jealous.
"Oh, shush up Effie May!", Dad scolds, and Effie almost tramples down the stairs. I get up and shut my wardrobe, brushing my shirt down. I see Kasen standing, leaned on the door frame.
"How are you, beautiful?", I blush.
I don't say anything and he walks over, leaning his forehead on mine for a few seconds, then he moves forward, slowly kissing me, stopping my gasp.
After about half a minute he pulls away and I grin, "I'm doing great now."
He pecks at my lips and I put my arms around his neck.
"I'm going downstairs to get breakfast, do you want to join me? Well, us."
He nods his head and slides his arm around my far shoulder and we walk downstairs.
"There's my Ayla!", Mum exclaims.
I sit down, Kasen next to me. His hair is short but not too short, his eyes a deep blue-green. He is handsome, so I gaze at him. Remi snaps her fingers in front of my face and I grab some toast.
When breakfast is over, Kasen asked me if he could stay.
"I'm going to fill out my application upstairs, you can come with."
Mum nods her head and adds,
"No shenanigans up in her bedroom, Kasen", she laughs and winks at him.
He grins and we walk back upstairs.
I walk in first and he shuts the door behind him. My desk is next to my bed, so I grab a pen and the application and sit at the desk, and he sits on the bench next to me. We are very romantic, but not too romantic. We stare into each other's eyes for a while and he hold my chin in his hand and gives me several small kisses. Then they turn into longer kisses, more passionate by the second. Our love cannot be contained and it's exciting. He puts his hand on my back and slides his hand under my shirt, making me pull away and softly gasp.
"I should really fill out my application out now.", I chuckle, my voice shaking.
He keeps his warm hand under my shirt, and plays with the strap of my brassiere. I pick up my pen and he rests his head on my shoulder.
When I finish my application, I seal it back up in the blush pink envelope it came in. I sigh deeply and look over at Kasen, he lifts his head from my shoulder. I move one of my legs over the other side of the bench, facing him. He does the same thing. I put my arms around his shoulder, and he puts his arms around my hips. Our love is a simple love. We rarely argue, and every kiss, every hug, every finger that touches each other's skin, has meaning to it. I don't love him for his looks, but his personality. His handsomeness is a very nice feature though. He presses his lips to mine. We kiss for about a minute, when annoying little Effie May, rumbles in and yells.
"Ew!"
"Oh get out Effie!", I laugh.
She leaves and shuts the door quickly.
"I should go now, I have work soon and I have to help Mom with the chores.", Kasen says.
"Sounds good.", I say, "I'll see you tonight?"
I raise an eyebrow at Kasen, smile, and kiss him quick.
"I'll see you tonight." He raises an eyebrow, smiles, and kisses me for a few seconds too. He gets up and so do I, brushing off my clothes.
"Sorry if I messed up your hair.", he chuckles. I walk over to the mirror and fix my hair, Kasen stands behind me wrapping his arms around my upper ribcage, under my chest.
"I have to go out and do some gardening almost all day so I should get changed."
He lies down on the bed and stares at the ceiling and I walk over to my closet and get my tank top and sneakers.
I take off my jacket and throw it on top of him, chuckling. I pull off my shirt and hang it back up in my wardrobe
"You're so beautiful, Ayla, you know that?", Kasen says, sitting up and I blush. I put on my tank top and thank him. He gets up and stretches.
"I better get going now, Mom will get angry if I don't show up soon", he says.
"Okay.", I say as I kiss him slowly.
"I'll see you later, Ayla"
We walk down the stairs and Mum glares at me, grinning like a child.
Kasen grabs his faded, brown bag and slings it around his shoulder
"Bye, my love", Kasen says, kissing me quick and jogging out the door. I walk outside and start on my gardening work.
