I wake up and sit on the side of my bed, rubbing my burning eyes so I can see clearly. I stand up and stretch, when Mum comes in and yells,
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY AYLA",
as well as Dad, Remi, Effie, and our dog, Hadlee. I force a smile and go down the line to hug everybody.
"Guess what came in the mail today Ayla!", 10-year-old Effie exclaims.
I glare at Mum and see the excitement rushing through her and I instantly know what it is.
"Wh-", I respond to Effie when I'm cut off by 14-year-old Remi when she says in a monotone voice,
"The application for The Speculate."
A weight dropped in my stomach as Remi and Effie's arguing becomes silence.
"Wow! What an opportunity!", I say excitedly, when really I was scared half to death of what The Speculate had to bring me
