I screamed, making Hudson laugh as he leaned, turning our plastic sled at the last second to hit the jump at the bottom of the hill that Nick made.
When our sled finally came to a complete stop and Hudson was still laughing along with everyone else at the top of the hill, I rolled off and playfully pushed him off... "That was mean!"
"Oh my God, Mae, that was so funny."
I picked up some snow and made a ball, chucking it at his chest as he stood up.
"Ohhh, that wasn't very nice." He smiled as he started running at me. Laughing, I turned to take off but wasn't fast enough. Wrapping his arms around my waist, I let out a scream as he lifted me off the ground and spun me around, dropping to his knees and laid me down on my back in the snow.
He held me down with one hand and lifted a pile of snow with his other. "You deserve a face wash for throwing that snowball at me."
"You better not." I tried getting out of his grasp but he crossed one leg over mine, smiling down at me.
"Hudson, I'm warning you. Technically we're even because you hit that jump after I told you no."
"Mmm, nope." He pretended like he was going to drop it on my face but stopped.
I started laughing. "Hudson!"
"Yesss?"
"Oh my God. If you're going to kiss her, do it already so we can keep sledding." Nick gagged as he started walking back up the hill.
I didn't even realize Nick came down.
Hudson chuckled as he got up, extending his hand out to me and helped me up off the ground. "Fine, truce. This has been a lot of fun. I haven't done this since I was a kid. I know this isn't how either of us planned our Christmas vacation going but I'm having a lot of fun getting to know you."
"Good and me too... but if we hit that jump again the next time we go down... I'm going to have to hurt you."
He laughed. "I'm scared."
"Ohhhh, you should be."
When we got back to the house, Hudson stayed outside with Aiden and Austin a little longer to help them make a snowman.
After I changed out of my wet clothes, I stood by the window, drinking some hot chocolate as I watched them building it together. It wasn't the normal snowman... to be honest it was a big blob but ended up still being adorably cute.
I laughed when Hudson turned towards the window, shrugging his shoulders at me with how it turned out.
