Geralt POV

"Geralt....Gerallt"

"The girl in the woods will be with you always."

"you choose.....You suck it up.....Move on"

Opening my eyes I try to sit up only to have a very sharp pain from my neck stop me. Causing me to groan in pain, fully waking me up. Looking around the room I look for any sign of Negra, remembering her getting bit in the neck before I passed out. Feeling a body shift beside me, I look down to see her laying there sleeping peacefully with her neck all bandaged and both of her ankles that were wrapped up. I sigh in relief knowing that she's ok, though I couldn't remember when she sprained both ankles.

"Your scars. You heal quite nicely, though you didn't need as much. As the potion was already working its magic." She states giving me a smile, while I looked at her confused.

"Your companion here brewed a Superior Swallow for you, after she carried you and the princess here." I look at her with surprise before looking over at Negra. Well that explains her ankles, must've been a bitch to carry me and the princess all the way back. Especially me.

"The princess?" I ask, still looking at Negra watching her chest slowly going up and down as she slept.

"I've arranged for her to stay a while with the Sisters of Melitele" The witch answers. Tearing my gaze away  I look at the witch with concern, remembering what I did to her before I passed out.

"Her neck..." I ask.

"She'll heal too. You should know Foltest issued a statement. The honorable Lord Ostrit gave his life to slay the vukodlak. Miners are gathering ore for a statue." She updates me, to which I began to sit up from the bed. My body aches and stings as I move, begging me to not move but I didn't listen. Moving to the edge of the bed to grab my shirt.

"Anyone else would've killed the princess." The witch starts making me internally groan as I know where this was going.

"I'll take my coin now. I need to get back to my horse, once she wakes up we'll leave." I grunted as I began to get up from the bed, wincing as I do for my wounds haven't healed yet. Walking over to my gear to get ready to leave.

"Who's Renfri? Her's was the only you uttered over and over, but then changed to Negra in your sleep." I don't say anything and walked over to my swords.

"My coin" I stated, not wanting to continue this conversation.

"So that's all life is to you? Monsters and Money?" She asks walking up to me.

"It's all it needs be."

"You say this is all life is to you, but there is a vortex of fatearound all of us, Geralt. Growing with each and every oneof our choices, drawing our destinies in closer. I feel something out there waits for you, for both of you." She states handing me Renfri's Broach that I initially gave to Foltest to give the Princess. Gripping the broach in my hand, remembering Renfri's dead body in my head, I place it into my bag. Suddenly a groan was heard coming from the bed, turning towards Negra I see her still asleep. But her brows was furrowed, as another groan escapes her throat, then she began muttering words.

"ri...iri...ciri" she muttered before she began thrashing. Quickly I run to her side and gripped her shoulders, not to tight, but enough to help her stay still.

"Negra. Negra, wake up. Its just a dream." I tell her, but she continued to thrash and soon scream.

Negras Pov

Opening my eyes, I am surrounded by snow covered trees and the cold breeze blowing through my hair as I look around searching for any familiar face I could find.  All of a sudden the same girl with the blue cape stood in front of me. However she didn't acknowledge me, she just stood there staring. Confused I turn around to see a large tree  surrounded by nothing but sand, with silver and white wisps floating to the sky. As I look at the tree before me, in the corner of my eye, the Girl begins to walk towards it. Somewhat in a trance, as she began to get closer. As I place my hand on her shoulder, it goes straight through, as if I was just a ghost in this realm. Suddenly a faint voice came from the tree, almost like a whisper being said into my ear. With a voice that sends shivers up and down my arms, making me feel uneasy from the feeling.

"Ciri.....Negra.....Ciri.....Negra" It whispers repeating over and over into my ears, as a sudden pain began to build into my head. Causing me to kneel to the ground, gripping my head begging for it to stop. Feeling blood begin to seep from my ears into my hands, till the pain got so great I screamed.

**

"AHHHHHHH" I screamed as my body shoots up from the bed, feeling sweat and tears running down my face as I try to catch my breath. Suddenly a hand was placed on my shoulder, causing me to grab my dagger from my belt and raising it to the intruder's neck. Focusing my vision, I freeze as I see my dagger against Geralts neck. His bare chest was covered in bandages, as his hair was all messy and out of its usual half up pony, with the rest of his body covered in sweat and dirt. My eyes focus on my knife, my stomach clenching as I see blood begin to seep from his neck.

"Negra, its me. You're safe." His gruffy voice snapping me out of my state, the knife falling from my grasp as I stare at his eyes. Those golden orbs holding concern and gentleness, making me sigh finally feeling air in my lungs. Hanging my head in exhaust, closing my eyes to focus on my breathing. Feeling Geralts hand on my shoulder again, making my body relax instantly, with my hand placing on top of his.

"I...I'm ok. Just a nightmare." I mumbled. Running my other hand through my messy raven hair, sighing.

"That didn't seem like any Nightmare." the voice of the Witch says, making me glare at her.

"Well it was. So shut the fuck up." I growled not wanting her to mind her business, as I stand up. Or at least tried to. As soon I stood up, I felt my legs begin to shake causing me to fall forward, only for Geralt to catch me.

"You need to rest." Shaking my head I force myself onto my feet, my legs shaking a bit before they regained their strength.

"I'm fine, Wolf. Just stood up fast, now can we have our gold now?" I glared at the witch, who sighs and gives me the large bag of coin. With a deep breath, I make my out of the room. Not before grabbing my cloak and bag, and heading out of the door and towards Scout.

**

Walking back out into the bitter cold, I wrap my cloak closer to my body trying to keep my warmth contained. Seeing Scout ahead, I smile as he sees me and begins to walk towards me. Embracing him with warm arms, I pet his head and placed a kiss before I hung my bad on his satchel. Hearing footsteps coming my way, I stay focus on adjusting Scouts saddle. Even though I know it's completely fine.

"You heading South?" I hear his deep and gravel voice.

"I think I'll change it up and head towards Skellige. See an old friend and kill some sirens here and there." I answered lowering my hood as I face him. Back in his silver studded black armor, with new stitches sewn on holding it in place. With his face still covered in dirt, as was his hair, this man needs a bath.

"What about you? Thinking going back to Kaer Morhen? I'm sure Eskle would love to see you again, especially Vesemir." He scoffs as he approaches me. The air becoming a little tense as I feel his warmth radiating from him. Making me want to lean into his warmth.

"I have to get Roach from a whoreson. After that..." he goes quiet as he stares down at me. Making me fidget with Scouts strap.

"Well...if you're up to sail with a few drunken sailors, I am allowed to have a plus one" I offer leaning up teasingly. He looks down at me, his breath hitting my face making mine feel warm, before he sighs and says nothing.

"Orrrr not. It's ok, I get it. The Lone Wolf walks alone, I can take a hint." I shrug off as I hop onto Scouts Saddle. Looking down at his face which wore a frown.

"Hey, if you're interested, I know a good place in Novigrad that makes the best mead and meat. Thought we meet up, go and catch up. If you're interested, meet me at the Golden Sturgeon." Leaning on Scouts Saddle as the Wolf looks down and hmms. Making me roll my eyes as he begins to walk away. Not before I throw a bag of coins at his head, only for him to catch it. Looking at the bag in confusion, as he turns back at me.

"50/50. I keep my word, wolf. Do me one more favor, and don't die." He gives me a small smile, I mirror that smile before urging Scout to ride off. Leaving the Lone Wolf in the cold, as I rode off towards my next contract.
