It was a normal day at work at the cafe just a few blocks from my apartment.

Or so I thought.

Out of no where, some blonde spiky haired boy bolted into the store, using his explosion to launch himself over the counter, hiding behind it.

I went to say something to the boy when he held a finger to his mouth before putting his hands together in a pleading manner.

Another man walked in and you could tell he was angry. "Hey kid. You seen a boy run through here? Spiky blonde hair, red eyes-"

"Yeah, you see that alley across the street?" I lifted my finger, pointing out the glass towards a dark alley. "He ran through there. He's probably long gone now, there's a sewer in there that'll take you across town."

The man grunted in frustration and went to walk away. The blonde went to stand up but I held a finger out to him, making him wait. When the man completely left the building, I turned and held a hand out to the boy. He took my hand and stood up, gasping for air.

"What'd you even do?" I asked.

"Debt. Too far in debt."

I mouthed an 'oh' and looked down at the register.

"What's your name, kid?" He asked.

"I-Izuku. Izuku Midoriya." I muttered. "And I'm not a kid."

"Katsuki Bakugou. You live around here?"

"Something like that." I mumbled as the bell dinged, indicating that my shift was over. I carefully hung my apron up and walked around the counter. "Watch the explosions in here."

"Right." He chuckled and followed me. "Thanks for your help by the way."

"No problem." I said sarcastically. "How far in debt are you?"

He sighed in disappointment. "A grand. You smoke?"

I shook my head and said, "I can get you the money if you never cause a scene like that again. You almost costed my job."

"Whatever. How are you supposed to get me a grand?"

"I've been saving up for a while but I have no intentions of spending it."

"Where's it at?"

"My apartment."

"Ughhh... how far is that?" He complained.

I pointed to a yellow building only a block ahead. "That building." He squinted his eyes for a second and nodded.

I felt his hand on my wrist and I didn't even have time to look at him before he pulled me onto his back, using his explosions to get us there faster. I winced at the speed and wrapped my arms around his neck tightly along with my legs around his waist.

I felt a small spark on my arm, making me rip my arm away immediately and fall to the ground, noticing that we were already here. "Are you crazy?! I could've been killed!" I yelled.

Bakugou took a step closer towards me and jumped at me, holding his hands out to his sides, making me cover my face.

"Tch." He rolled his eyes and shoved his hands in my pockets.

I felt a bead of sweat roll down my forehead as I gulped and got up, dusting myself off before walking inside the building.

"I'm on the third floor, hope you don't mind the stairs." He shook his head and followed me up the stairs to my room.

"Carful. It's messy." I mumbled and flicked the light on.

"It's not too bad, hey I got a shelf like this too!" He smiled, walking over to my all might shelf and picking up my favorite figurine.

"No kacchan!" I yelled and lunged for it, putting it back.

"What'd you call me?" He furrowed his eyebrows, suddenly looking much bigger then me.

"T-that is your name.. right? K-kacchan?"

"It's Katsuki. But you can call me that, I don't care." He muttered and continued looking.

"Please. Don't touch them."

"Why not?" He asked.

"I just don't want you to... well- um... accidentally.. explode them." I said, mumbling the last bit.

"Oh trust me, if I was going to explode them it wouldn't be an accident." He stated. "Do you not know how a quirk works?" He asked.

"I-I do." I stuttered. "I'll go get the mon-"

"What's your quirk?" He asked me, stopping me in my tracks.

I felt every muscle in my body tense up at his question. I tried to think of something but this was always the question I couldn't lie my way out of.

"You don't have one." He said, more of a statement then a question as he turned fully to face me.

I sighed in defeat and shook my head.

"That's why you were so scared earlier."

I nodded. "I'll go get your money."

I walked off and into my room, grabbing the money from under my bed.

"So this is your room?"

I nearly jumped out of my skin as I spun around, facing the tall boy in the door way. He laughed at me and said, "Your really jumpy."

"S-sorry. I didn't know you were there." I muttered, holding the tin to my chest. "O-oh. Um- here it is. Theirs two grand I think."

"Thanks Deku." He smirked, taking the tin.

"D-deku?" I muttered, feeling insulted.

"Not to be rude but uh- I should get going. Thanks again."

"No problem." I said softly as he disappeared from the door way.

That was my first conversation with someone that actually lasted more then thirty seconds in a long time.

He wasn't bothered that I didn't have a quirk..

I have to see him again.
