It felt kind of like he was waking from the dead. Aiden always wondered what It'd be like to sleep a year away. Now he didn't have to.
He remembers relatively nothing if he was honest. Just him sitting in class, thinking about where the hell Peter could've been. He hadn't seen him since he jumped out of the bus from their field trip to Manhattan. And Peter wasn't answering his phone.
Of course Aiden had to die in school of all places. Because the next thing he knew, the world kind of just- melted? At least that's what it looked like to him. And within a heartbeat he was back in English class. He looked around but things were different.
Aiden felt around in a panic, realizing his stuff was gone, except for his phone in his pocket. He looked around the classroom to see four other students- including Mj- looking the same he did. Just as confused as him.
He turned to Mj. Leaning over to talk to her.
"What the hell just happened?" He asked her.
"I think we fell asleep?" She said, as though she wasn't sure herself.
"All of us? Together?"
"It was a really boring class?" Mj offered, but to no avail. None of it made sense.
They heard screams from the hallway, turning their heads to the door. Then back to the other three kids in the room. None of which seemed to want to move.
"Go check it out." Mj said is a hushed voice, sounding worried.
"Fuck no!" Aiden whisper-yelled back.
Mj gave him a worried look. Aiden had never seen her this upset.
Aiden let out a sigh of defeat. Standing up and opening the door.
He peeked his head out of the door. Students flooded out of the gymnasium. Screaming about people "coming back."
Whatever that meant.
Aiden turned around to see Mj standing closely behind him. He jumped slightly, at her sudden appearance.
"I think it's okay?"
"What's going on though?" Mj asked
"I don't know."
Aiden and Mj stepped out of the classroom.
"Guys!" Ned shouted, Aiden and Mj whirled around the meet Ned as he gave a hug.
"Ned!" Aiden said, snapping him out of it as he let go. "What the hell happened?"
"People are saying there was some kind of blip, half the people in the world disappeared and reappeared!"
