Season 1, Episode 14: Fool Me Once

Stefan refrains from glaring at the witch as he rushes into the tomb.

"Stefan!" Elena cries and starts to run after him. She can't lose him.

Sheila blocks Elena from entering the tomb. "You can't just leave him in there!" Elena protests. She needs Stefan.

But Sheila disagress. "He made his choice!"

"No!" Elena shakes her head. She turns to "Bonnie, do something! Please!"

Bonnie looks at Elena hesitantly so Elena keeps pushing. "Please, Bonnie! Stefan doesn't deserved to be trapped! You have to break the seal, please!" After all, if Stefan and Damon were trapped then she would never get what she wanted. Their attention. Their love. She would never get to see them fighting over her or protecting her.

"Please, Bonnie." Elena says as she forces herself to tear up.

Bonnie sees the tears and turns to her Grams. "Here." She says as she picks up the grimoire and looks desperate. "Just show me what to do. I'll do it."

Sheila glances at Elena before turning to Bonnie. "We are not strong enough. Even if we were able to bring the seal down, there's no guarantee that we could get it back up again."

Bonnie shakes her head. "This is important to Elena, I have to do it." She thinks as she looks at her Grams, stubborn. "You said it yourself, many things can fuel a witches power. Help me or I'll do it alone."

Stefan goes back into the tomb to find Damon.

Damon is still searching the tomb for Katherine. Frustrated, he kicks the dirt on the floor. "She's not here." He says, confused and upset.

Stefan walks up to Damon but he doesn't look at him.

"Damon." Stefan says again.

"She's not here." He repeats to himself.

"What?" Stefan says, shocked.

"She's not here!" Damon screams, unwilling to accept that everything he did was for nothing.

Damon throws the blood bag at the wall. The blood splatters across it. Damon looks at Stefan with anguish. The two don't notice that a few drops of blood managed to get on someone.

Sheila and Bonnie are reciting the spell to lift the seal as Elena circles around them. The torches flare up and Elena looks towards the tomb.

Elena smiles. "I think it's working."

Anna exits the tomb with Pearl, who is still weak.

"I just wanted my mother back. Jeremy's fine. He's outside. I won't touch him." Anna explains before she leaves with Pearl.

However, Elena dismissed what she said about Jeremy. Caring more about Stefan and Damon making it out of the tomb.

The torches begin to falter.

"Bonnie, keep going!" Sheila advices before she turns to Elena. "They better hurry."

Elena goes forward. "Stefan, they can't hold it much longer!" She yells.

Stefan grabs his brother's shoulder. "Damon, we need to get out of here."
