Connor continued talking to Maya until practise was over. And even though she insisted that he didn't have to stay with her, he said he wanted to wait for his brother and for him to met the girl.
After a few minutes, a brown haired boy came walking through the gym hall, his bag slung on his shoulder and his hair damp from the shower. He skipped up the steps to where his brother and a brunette girl were sitting. As he approached them, he started to recognise the girl.
"Hello Maya." The boy smiled as he set his bag down on the floor. Maya looked at the boy, a small smile on her face, "Hi. You must be Brady. Your twin brother has told me a lot about you. Including that you watch me come here every day." Brady gave his brother a look that if anything, read 'Seriously?'.
He scratched the nape of his neck as a light blush adorned his cheeks, "Yeah that's true. I promise that I'm not stalking you! I just find it strange how you come in here every day. What do you come here to do anyway?" The brown haired boy questioned as he sat down on the seats in front of Maya, turning around to face her.
A small smile painted itself across her face as she took out her sketch book, "I come here to draw. It's quiet and no one's ever here." Her smile faltered a bit, taking into account the fact that the gym hall was in fact not quiet anymore, and that it's wasn't deserted.
Both the brothers faces held something of shock and interest as they looked at the brunette girl. They'd never met anyone that would rather stay behind after school than go home. Brady was intrigued.
"Can we see you drawings? Or are you going to make us beg?" Brady smirked as Maya rolled her eyes. She had to admit, he was quite cute. 'No wonder Jenna was talking about him; they're probably dating.' The girl thought before she opened her sketch book.
"I'm only letting you see one of them. The others are still in progress." She flicked through the pages to her oldest sketch of a golden retriever. She turned to book towards the boys, their eyes widening as they looked at the page.
Connor spoke up after a few seconds, "This is amazing Maya. Absolutely amazing." Brady nodded in agreement with his brother, while the brunette girl smiled shyly.
"You know what, you should sit with us at lunch. I'm sure our friends will love you." Brady flung his arm around the girls shoulder, smiling at her.
Maya's head went into a frenzy trying to process what the boy had just said. He, Brady freaking Noon, was asking her to sit with him and his friends at lunch. She doubted that his friends would like her, and she also found it odd how she really hoped they would like her.
"I normally sit by myself at lunch, but sure, I'll sit with you guys."
Little did Maya know, that this was the start of a whole new chapter.
