*:・゚✧*:・゚Monday rolled around in the blink of an eye, as did the blaring of Maya's alarm clock pulling her out of her deep slumber. A groan left the back of her throat as she groped around to find the snooze button on her alarm. Pressing her palm down on the clock, the bleeping sound ceased. Sighing contently, she got out of bed in a jumble of blankets and duvets. Once the brunette girl had finally escaped the trap of her bedsheets, she made her way to the bathroom to freshen up.
Monday's were Maya's least favourite day of the week; where everyone had come back from the weekend and were all chatting about what they got up to, which made her head pound as she walked through the school doors. She soon found her group of friends by the lockers, all in a circle.
Brady noticed the brunette girl approaching, breaking the circle to pull her into a hug and to pull her into the circle. "Whatever it is you're all talking about please talk quietly. It is a crime to wake me up before 8 am and I'm so tired it's painful." She groaned as she rubbed her temples, screwing her eyes shut. The boy looked at Maya worriedly, leaning down to be at eye level with her.
"You should be at home resting Maya, not at school. Do you want me to take you home?" The boy spoke softly, his voice soothing the girls throbbing forehead. She contemplated on taking up the boys offer, but she then shook her head. "I'll make it through the day Brady, but thank you." The boy nodded as he absentmindedly kissed the girls forehead before falling back into conversation with the group.
What the hell?! He can't just do that!
Sophie, noticing the interaction, looked over at Maya with a face that clearly read 'so just friends you say?' making the brunette girl roll her eyes at her, but the bright red blush was telling a completely different story.
Maya knew she couldn't slack off in class just because she was tired, because one thing she hated was asking someone for their notes. Even if her eyelids were constantly falling shut, she had to push through the day and try and not fall asleep on top of her ap chemistry textbook.
The brunette girl avoided Sophie's gaze, staring down at her shoes at to not look directly at the blonde girl, whose eyes were piercing through her soul. But to no avail, she felt an arm pulling her away from the group, lifting her chin to look up.
"Avoid eye contact with me all you want, but you know I just saw that interaction, not to mention your blushing." Maya couldn't help but smile at the girls comment.
Gosh I must be really transparent.
She raked a hand through her hair, letting her eyes fall shut for a few seconds, "As much as I'd love to squeal and giggle at how cute he was, I am extremely tired and I just want this day to be over already-" She took her phone out of her pocket to check the time, her eyes widening, "- and I'm gonna be late to chem. See you later." Picking up her bag, Maya excused herself from her friends, waving them goodbye as she made her way down the hallway to s34 for her first class of the day.
Maya slid into her seat next to a boy called Colin just before the bell rang, and she let out a sigh of relief; all before the voice of none other than Jenna waltzing into the classroom with her friends. Some of the girls words were incoherent, but form the ones Maya was able to pick up, they were all talking about spring formal.
"Hey, Maya. Has anyone asked you to formal yet? Oh right sorry, I forgot that no one wants to go with you." The cheerleader and her group laughed at the girls comment, even though in reality there was nothing funny about it. Truth be told, Maya hadn't been asked by anyone to formal yet, and she wasn't expecting anyone to; she had lost her last but of hope a while back.
Unfazed by Jenna, the brunette girl rolled her eyes as she focused on the notebook in front of her. "Don't listen to her. I haven't been asked by anyone either, albeit I've been waiting for Aidan to ask me but I don't think he's going to." The brunette girl couldn't help but feel comforted by the fact that the blonde boy had the courage to openly say that to her, since they nearly even knew each other.
"Don't be shy, talk to him more. I'm sure he'll ask you." Maya smiled sweetly as Mr. Abbott walked into the classroom, everyone falling silent at the bald man began to talk.
Morning classes droned on in a blur in front of Maya's eyes, and in no time at all, she found herself sitting in English literature, but this time without Gracie. The red head girl had texted her earlier in the day saying she was sick and wasn't coming to class. So now she had to endure class by herself, while tiredness creeped up on her. Resting her chin in the palm of her hand, she let her eyes close ever so slightly hoping that she'd go unnoticed.
What she hadn't noticed was that Brady, sitting behind her, had seen her slump in her seat, seeming more laid back that usual. He figured she was tired and was desperately trying to keep herself awake, and so he got up from his seat, quietly sliding into the seat beside the sleepy girl. To not draw attention to them, Brady lightly nudged the girl to lay her head on his arm, to which she smiled softly and obliged, her eyes closing peacefully.
"I'll take the note for you, love, you can rest." The boy whispered as he lightly stroked his fingers through the girls hair, pulling Maya's notebook towards him to take notes for her.
