Ivy~"I just don't understand why I have to come too, why can't I stay with grandma?" I shout out heatedly.
"Ivy your grandmother is old and I am not going to put that responsibility on her." My mom responds sternly.
"I'm going to be a senior this year I can take care of myself. I know that grandma wouldn't mind me staying there you didn't even ask her."
"Ivy I'm not going back and forth with you. This is non-negotiable. Now go finish packing up your room." I give my mom one last seething look before stomping away to my room.
My mother works as a brand influencer and marketer. This year, she received a really good offer to work with a company in Los Angeles. On the other hand, my father is a truck driver and is rarely at home. He's always taking trips to different states and sometimes he'll be gone for weeks at a time.
We've lived in Michigan my entire life and this house is my childhood home. Now my mom wants to ruin my last year of high school by moving me halfway across the country. My little sister Heavenly is a little more cooperative seeing as she's only four and will start kindergarten this year.
As I lay on my bed face down all I can think about is how I won't be able to spend my Senior year with my best friend Camila. We've been inseparable since the 3rd grade. I'm wallowing in my sorrow when I hear light knocks on my door and I can already tell that it's Heavenly standing behind it. I make my way over to the door and am immediately faced with a teary-eyed angel. I know that she doesn't fully understand what's going on but with the argument me and my mom just had I'm sure that she can sense some tension.
"What's wrong my love?" I ask as I lift her into my arms gently and start to soothe her.
"Why are you and Mommy yelling?" The words coming out broken through her sniffles.
"You don't have to worry about that everything will be okay." I reassure her as she cuddles more into my arms. I take Heavenly back into her room and tuck her in for the night.
Since I've been fighting my mom so heavily on her decision to move I've barely packed a thing. Somewhere throughout the night, I end up passing out. I wake up the next morning to my room almost empty. At this point, all my personal items are in either a suitcase or a box getting ready to be shipped out. I walk out of my room with a solemn look on my face and a hunch in my back. My mother and heavenly are sitting at the table having breakfast already.
"All the things you put into boxes your dad is going to drive them to LA in the U-Haul he's coming at 5 today so everything needs to be packed by then," she doesn't spare me a glance as the words come out of her mouth.
I don't respond I just go back to my room to finish taping up the rest of the boxes. It will be the first time I've seen my dad in a week when he comes home today, but I'm not looking forward to it like I usually am, I'm too upset with both of them to even care. I just want to finish packing so I can hang out with friends one last time before I leave. Since I have no idea when I'll be back to visit.
My dad comes to pick up everything we've packed and the whole house has a gloomy look to it. My best friend Camila comes to pick me up shortly after my dad leaves. We go to the strip mall and all my friends are there. They planned a little going away party for me. After hearing how much everyone was going to miss me and doing my rounds of final goodbyes I wanted to stay even more. Camila dropped me back off at my house with tears in her eyes but I didn't want to make saying goodbye any harder than it already was so I stayed strong for the both of us and reassured her that it was going to be okay.
The next morning I had a flight to Los Angeles at 9 am. I picked out my comfiest outfit to wear to the airport which consisted of Nike sweats, a random hoodie, and my Crocs. My hair was in the messiest bun. If you could even consider what I had on my head a bun. The flight went smoothly and Heavenly didn't complain at all even though it was her first time on an airplane.
I have to admit the sights in LA are beautiful. I had no idea where we were going. I never asked to see the new place we were moving into. My mom was driving a rental and the whole ride was completely silent. Until we pulled into the parking lot of this huge 20-story building. I couldn't help but stare in awe. The building looked a hundred times out of our pay range. Just who was my mom working for that we were able to afford to live in a place like this?
As soon as we walk into the building we're greeted by a very tall, loud, and bald man who seems to have a whole family tailing behind him.
"Welcome to the Big Baller estate!" he yells with a wide grin on his face.

I didn't see that many Lamelo fanfics on Wattpad so I'm trying to write my own. This is the first book that I'm writing that I'm actually going to try to commit to cut me some slack.
