Ivy~"Ivy, please just talk to me." The audacity of this boy after the stunt he pulled on Friday, and now I caught him kissing the only friend I have.
"What could you possibly have to say to me right now? You just kissed my best friend."
"I swear I didn't try to kiss her. She was the one who tried to kiss me. I was about to move away from her."
"Yeah sure"
"Why do you care if I kiss someone else anyway?" I could feel my anger intensifying as those words slipped out of his mouth.
"Did Friday mean nothing to you? Am I just someone you want to tease and kiss when you're bored?"
"No, of course, it meant something to me, but you keep giving me mixed signals. One second you're acting like you don't like me and want nothing to do with me and the next were kissing."
"Whatever Melo," I say trying to hold back my tears, and quickly stormed off to my room.
As the evening went on, I found myself lying in my bed, cocooned by the sounds of music as I tried to escape from the events of the day. Reluctantly, I eventually got out of bed and made my way outside my room for dinner, all the while making a conscious effort to avoid any interaction with Melo.
After finishing, I politely excused myself and headed to the kitchen to wash the dishes. As I was cleaning up, Melo entered the room and tried to strike up a conversation with me. I chose to ignore him, but when he attempted to grab my arm, I turned to face him. Looking into his eyes brought back memories of last Friday and our interactions. Despite the surge of anger clouding my mind, I swiftly broke free from his hold and hurried to my room. Once inside, hot tears streamed down my cheeks as I shut the door behind me.
I took a moment to gather myself and then made the decision to step into a steaming hot shower, hoping to find some comfort. As the hot water cascaded down my back, I closed my eyes and tried to shut out everything that was troubling me. After stepping out of the shower, I found myself making an impulsive decision to reach out to Jayden. Despite knowing that getting involved with boys right now might not be the best idea, I couldn't help but crave some form of validation.
Ivy: Are you free this weekend? I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out.
Jayden: Yeah, I'm free on Saturday. Where do you wanna go?
Ivy: We should go watch a movie.
Jayden: Okay. I'll go pick you up from your house if that's ok with you.
Ivy: Yeah that's fine.
Saturday
I have been anticipating today all week. I followed my usual morning and evening routine. He said that he would pick me up at 7, so I started preparing at 5:30 to ensure I would be on time. Even though we are just going to the movies, I wanted to look comfortable yet put together. Therefore, I took the time to do my makeup and decided to wear a pair of black jeans paired with a brown skin tight shirt.
I left at 6:50 to wait for him outside. Surprisingly, he arrived exactly at 7:00. I could see that he's a genuinely sweet guy. Not only did he arrive on time, but he also got out of the car to open the door for me. I could already tell that the date was going to go well.
"You got any music you want to put on?" He asked me.
"Well, I don't know if you listen to this kind of music, but I really like Pierce the Veil."
"Ooo yes, believe it or not I do."
I put on my favorite song by them, Disasterology, and bonded over the rest of the music and artists I put on.
When we arrived, he once again opened the car door for me and grabbed my hand to help me out of the car. We made our way inside and got our tickets. During the first 20 minutes of the movie, I could feel that he wanted to put his arm around me, but he was trying to respect my space and boundaries.
I didn't really want to have too much physical contact with him at first because it was our first time going out together and because of what had been happening in the past week, but I'm trying to move past that. So, I decided to gradually get closer to him during the movie and loosen up, to show him that it's okay. Eventually, we ended up holding hands the entire time and I had my head on his shoulder, but it was perfect.
After the movie, he suggested that we grab some food together. He took me to the Cheesecake Factory, which is one of my favorite places to eat.He got out of the car before me to open my door, and we walked into the restaurant hand in hand. We were seated at a table for two, and he sat directly across from me, looking at the menu and deciding what he wanted to eat.
The more I look at him, the more I realize how handsome he is. His attractiveness is enhanced by how genuine and sweet he is. I can tell he put effort into making this date enjoyable for me. I end up ordering my favorite, chicken alfredo, and he gets steak and mashed potatoes.
"I would like to get to know more about you, if that's alright. Like where you're from or about your family."
"Yes, of course. I'm from Michigan. We moved here because of my mom's job - she's a brand influencer. Her boss is letting her stay in his penthouse along with my little sister Heavenly and me. My dad is a trucker, so he's not with us. I've been having a hard time with the move because I miss my friends, but I've been trying to make the most of it."
"Well if makes you feel any better, I'm glad you came here or else we never would have met."
"What about you? You play basketball right?"
And we kept talking about different things throughout the dinner.
We finished our meal and then he called over the waiter to pay. We got back in the car and rode in comfortable silence. While he was driving, he put his hand on my thigh and looked really good as I made turns with one hand. When we returned to the penthouse, he opened the door for me to get out. I was a bit nervous that someone might see him dropping me off from a window, but I pushed those thoughts aside. I didn't want anyone to ruin the great night I had. I didn't know how to say goodbye, but the way he was looking at me made me feel like he might have tried to kiss me. Instead, I gave him a small peck on the cheek. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his arms rested perfectly around my waist.
"Thank you for tonight. It was nice, and I had a great time," I offered him a small smile. "No, thank you for coming out with me. You looked beautiful," he said. I blushed a little at his words and looked down at my feet.
"If you don't mind I'd like to plan something again soon."
"Of course, I'd love that."
As soon as I get to the top floor I rush to my room. My mom knows I went on a date but I don't need her asking me questions right now. I get in the shower and make sure to wash off my makeup well. Afterward, I put on some shorts and the first baggy shirt I could find. The thoughts of the date just kept replaying in my mind and for the first time in a while as I lay down to go to sleep I was happy.
y'all we been working real hard. pls like and comment.
